Accompanying students in study and training

Accompanying and supporting students in their studies and training, in recent years, the Vietnam Student Association of the province has implemented many activities to support students in their studies, physical training, scientific research, volunteering for community life, proactively integrating internationally... contributing to building a generation of students with knowledge, professional skills, social skills, and confidence to participate in the labor market.

Ms. Bui Thi Thu Phuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam Student Association of the province, said: There are 3 universities and colleges in the province with more than 4,100 members and students. Right from the beginning of the school year, the Executive Committee of the Association has directed units to innovate the form of activities suitable to the psychology and aspirations of students; promptly discover and replicate good models at the grassroots level; at the same time, organize political activities to foster revolutionary ideals, educate ethics, lifestyle and create a favorable environment for students to practice, strive and participate in community activities.

A typical example is the movement “5 Good Students”, every year, the Association at all levels strengthens propaganda about the movement through the websites of the Youth Union, Associations, forums, and commends “5 Good Students”, through dialogue between the President of the Vietnam Student Association of the province with the Association’s officials, members and students. After achieving the title of “5 Good Students”, the Association will coordinate with organizations and businesses in the province to create internship conditions, support in finding jobs, starting a business and establishing a career.

An activity of the English Club - TEC, Tay Bac University.

Student Ha Minh Thu, Nursing College class K14B, Son La Medical College, said: During my studies, my teachers created conditions for me to do clinical internships at the Provincial General Hospital and practice specialized subjects right at school. The Student Association supported recruitment information, organized start-up competitions, technical innovations, visited practice facilities, private clinics, pharmacies, etc. These activities helped me practice my skills and become more confident when entering the labor market.

The Student Association of the schools encourages the spirit of learning, creativity and scientific research of students through many activities: organizing technical innovation competitions, launching the movement "Each student has a creative idea", forums for exchanging learning methods; building a bank of learning materials and research topics by major and school year; developing clubs and study teams... At the same time, rewarding and providing financial support for outstanding research projects.

Students from universities and colleges attended a training course on Association work organized by the Vietnam Student Association of the province.

Established in November 2024, up to now, the English Club - TEC at Tay Bac University has organized 7 events and activities in response to holidays and New Year's in the year, creating an environment for 39 members to improve their skills and ability to communicate in English. Ms. Nguyen Do Thao Anh, Club Manager, said: Club members are students aged 18-22; we regularly invite young people with IELTS scores of 8.0 or higher to share how to build basic knowledge, how to self-study IELTS as well as provide websites and exam preparation materials. In addition to improving foreign language skills, the Club's activities also help members to exchange and learn more life skills.

In addition to supporting students in their studies, student associations also actively organize volunteer activities, creating an environment for students to practice their skills and contribute to the community. Many programs such as "Supporting the exam season", "Green summer", "Green march", "Winter volunteer" and "Spring volunteer" have attracted a large number of students to participate. Volunteer teams have supported candidates for the national high school exam, helped new students enroll, organized summer activities for children, built rural roads, and overcame the consequences of floods... with thousands of members and students contributing.

Son La College organizes exchanges between Vietnamese students and Lao students.

In 2024, the whole province will have 1 student winning the "January Star" award of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Student Association; 71 individuals will win the title of "5 Good Students" at the provincial level; 266 individuals will win the title of "5 Good Students" at the school level. During the year, 650 ideas were proposed by students on the Central Youth Union's creative ideas portal; 26 innovative start-up projects of students were supported to be realized. Every year, there are about 100 youth volunteer teams with over 1,000 students carrying out volunteer activities for the community, supporting the exam season with hundreds of meaningful projects and tasks being implemented.

Through these activities, students in the province have been equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills, ready to participate in the labor market, quickly adapting to the working environment when recruited. In the coming time, the Vietnam Student Association of the province will continue to connect resources to maintain and develop awards, scholarships, and funds to support students who overcome difficulties to study well; at the same time, organize many diverse competitions, suitable to their abilities and interests, creating a vibrant emulation movement among students.
