Visiting Quang Duc today, one can no longer see the impoverished Quang Duc of 10 years ago. The present-day Quang Duc has no more poor households, and all aspects of its socio -economic development are on the rise. The Bac Phong Sinh border gate operates stably, creating jobs for local residents. Notably, from the end of May 2025, cross-border trade through the Bac Phong Sinh (Vietnam) - Li Huo (China) border crossing officially commenced, contributing to attracting and boosting trade, developing border trade, and promoting tourism between the two sides. The Quang Duc tea growing area, spanning over 200 hectares, is developing towards clean, green farming practices linked to deep processing. The Quang Duc industrial cluster is accelerating its investment progress. The commune has 63 businesses, of which 22 are operating stably, along with 142 production and business households and 7 cooperatives operating effectively.
Mr. Phan Van Viet, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Duc commune, said: "Quang Duc is committed to the development strategy set out for the 2026-2030 period, which is to identify border gate economics as a "key lever" to strongly shift the economic structure towards industry and services; striving to bring the proportion of industry - construction and trade - services to account for more than 70% of the total value; average per capita income reaching at least 110 million VND/year; 100% of schools meeting national standards, 100% of solid waste being treated, and the forest cover rate maintaining a stable level above 70%."

Thanks to the province's investment, not only has Quang Duc changed, but the overall picture of ethnic minority areas in Quang Ninh has brightened. To date, 100% of mountainous, border, and island communes have roads reaching their villages and hamlets, and access to the national power grid; 100% of ethnic minority households have solid houses, access to television and radio, and use of clean water. Average per capita income in 2024 reached over 83.79 million VND/person/year, with the projected figure for 2025 reaching 100 million VND/person/year, approximately 2.5 times higher than the national target for average income of ethnic minorities. Quang Ninh has also completed the New Rural Development program at all levels ahead of schedule. The elimination of poor and near-poor households according to national and provincial standards has helped Quang Ninh achieve its goals for the national sustainable poverty reduction program (2021-2025) three years ahead of schedule.
Building on the success of Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU for the 2021-2025 period, the province is also conducting a comprehensive review to develop mechanisms and policies, focusing on and prioritizing the allocation of human resources and finances to implement and complete the goals and tasks of Resolution No. 06-NQ/TU for the 2026-2030 period. Quang Ninh's goal is to gradually reduce the gap between mountainous, border, island, and ethnic minority areas and urban areas, creating momentum for Quang Ninh's breakthrough growth.
