On October 24, the People's Committee of Son La province issued Decision No. 2219 recognizing the high-tech mango production area in Hat Lot town and in Hat Lot and Chieng Mung communes of Mai Son district, bringing great joy to mango growers, creating motivation for people to promote the application of science and technology in production, improving the quality and value of mangoes.
In recent days, the story of 269.4 hectares of mangoes in Hat Lot commune being recognized as a high-tech mango growing area is being discussed by the people in the commune with joy and excitement. This is a source of pride and joy after many years of efforts to care for and improve the quality of mangoes, which have now been recognized by the State as well as the market.
Mr. NGUYEN NGOC DUNG - Director of Ngoc Lan Cooperative, Hat Lot Commune, Mai Son, Son La : Personally, I and the mango growers in Hat Lot Commune are very happy because this opens up opportunities for convenient production and consumption, more broadly, there is an opportunity for people to get rich from mango trees. Not only the Cooperative, but also the people in the mango growing area always learn to apply technology such as pruning, using fertilizers, pesticides properly, and wrapping the fruit to prevent pests.
Having grown mango trees for many years, Ms. Luong's family has witnessed times when the price of mangoes rose to 18-20 thousand VND/kg, but also dropped to only 1-2 thousand VND/kg. However, her family is still determined to maintain and care for nearly 2 hectares of mangoes using high technology. Automatic irrigation technology or fruit wrapping, pruning, and canopy shaping. The recognition of a high-tech mango growing area is a great motivation for mango growers like Ms. Luong to continue caring for and improving the quality of mangoes.
Ms. NGUYEN THI LUONG - Na Cang 2 Village, Hat Lot Commune, Mai Son, Son La: The biggest wish of farmers like us is that in the coming years, mangoes will have a good harvest and good prices, and mangoes will be exported and shipped to many places. We are very happy and will try to take care of the mango trees to achieve the highest efficiency.
According to Decision 2219 of the Provincial People's Committee, the high-tech mango growing area of Mai Son district includes Ngoc Lan Cooperative and 9 household groups in Hat Lot town and Hat Lot and Chieng Mung communes with a total mango area of 399.3 hectares. In Hat Lot commune alone, the high-tech mango growing area is 269.4 hectares. This once again affirms and recognizes that the cultivation level of the people has been raised to a new level, contributing to improving the productivity, quality and value of mangoes; meeting the standards of domestic and international markets.
Mr. TONG VAN TAM - Vice Chairman of Hat Lot Commune People's Committee, Mai Son, Son La: The mango growing area applies science and technology to mango trees to achieve high productivity and quality. To maintain the CNC application area and expand the model to increase the area, the local Party Committee and authorities continue to coordinate with the Mai Son District Agricultural Extension Center and agricultural extension officers to propagate to the people to take good care of mango trees.
With the existing 924 hectares of mango, Hat Lot commune and mango growers are determined to maintain 269.4 hectares of high-tech mango, promote the application of science, technical advances and technology in production; gradually affirm the quality, value and brand of Mai Son mango in the market, contributing to increasing the value of cultivation and income of the people./.
