Russian-Vietnamese player Vadim Nguyen is about to debut in V-League

Vadim Nguyen is the next new player of SHB Da Nang Club in the 2025-2026 season. The player was born in 2005 and is from Russia, has dual nationality and is managed by the same company as goalkeeper Dang Van Lam.

SHB Da Nang Club has identified a potential overseas Vietnamese player. Vadim Nguyen was introduced in a training session more than a month ago and met the requirements of the team's coaching staff.

Vadim has a Russian mother and a Vietnamese father. The 20-year-old player is 1m75 tall and has a slim body. Vadim was a left-wing midfielder when he played for Rostov 2 Club in Russia.

The opportunity to return to Vietnam came when Vadim was introduced by the management company of goalkeeper Dang Van Lam. He is the "youngest brother" in a small family, where the dreams of overseas Vietnamese players from Russia take flight.

Vadim Nguyen met his brother Dang Van Lam in the recent pre-season friendly match of Thien Long Cup in Tam Ky. Vadim hopes to have a successful step forward like the goalkeeper of Ninh Binh FC.

Vadim's new club made a clip introducing him to fans. Vadim doesn't speak Vietnamese fluently yet, but he was able to pronounce his "return home" message in full.

"Returning to my roots is a calling that urges me stronger than ever. Flying the Vietnamese flag high on the mountain top is my future goal," Vadim said in his self-introduction video.

SHB Da Nang Club has temporarily registered 28 players, Vadim is the only overseas Vietnamese player. Vadim will wear shirt number 13 in the first season of playing in V-League 2025-2026.
