Round 9 of V-League 2025-2026 ended with many surprising results when the top team Ninh Binh was held to a draw by Becamex Ho Chi Minh City Club, Hanoi lost to Hong Linh Ha Tinh and Hoang Anh Gia Lai drew with Nam Dinh.

Despite losing points to Becamex TP.HCM, Ninh Binh FC still maintained the top spot with 21 points. However, they are only 1 point ahead of the second-placed team, Cong An Ha Noi, but have played one more match.

Quang Hai and his teammates are accelerating up the rankings with the latest victory against PVF-CAND.

A 1-0 victory over Dong A Thanh Hoa helped The Cong - Viettel maintain their position in the top 3 with 18 points.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club fell to 5th place in the rankings after a 1-2 defeat to Hai Phong Club right at Thong Nhat Stadium.

Sharing the same situation, Hanoi Club also received a 1-2 loss against Hong Linh Ha Tinh.

However, the biggest disappointment is probably the defending champion Nam Dinh Steel Blue when they only got 9 points and ranked 8th. They are only 2 points ahead of the bottom team Hoang Anh Gia Lai.

If they cannot improve their performance in the upcoming matches, the Southern team may have to enter the relegation race.

All 5 teams, Song Lam Nghe An, SHB Da Nang, PVF-CAND, Dong A Thanh Hoa and Hoang Anh Gia Lai, have 7 points. However, the team from the mountain town has the advantage of having one match left to play.
