Partial closure of Ho Chi Minh City – Long Thanh – Dau Giay expressway for 30 days

Partial closure of the highway to repair expansion joint P16 of Long Thanh bridge and fix the ITS system.

Vietnam Expressway Engineering Services Joint Stock Company (VECE - the management unit of the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway) has just announced the temporary closure of a part of the expressway and asked people to limit their speed when traveling on this expressway.

Accordingly, to serve the repair of expansion joints at Pillar P16 - Km12+907, Long Thanh Bridge on the highway, the construction unit will limit speed and narrow the lanes, barricade half of Long Thanh Bridge for 15 days, starting from July 15.

In addition, the intelligent transportation system (ITS) on the Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has also been upgraded and repaired. To serve the construction process, the construction unit has limited speed and narrowed the road surface at 64 locations for a period of one month from July 15 to August 14.

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway is often overloaded during holidays.

In order to ensure traffic safety for vehicles traveling on the route, VECE notes that it is difficult to avoid traffic jams during the construction process, so people and drivers should be informed to reduce speed and keep a safe distance. In addition, follow information channels to consider choosing a suitable route.

Ho Chi Minh City - Long Thanh - Dau Giay Expressway has been in operation since 2015 with a length of 55km, 4 lanes, 2 emergency lanes. The project plays a role in connecting traffic between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai , and the Southeast provinces.

This is a highway with a high volume of traffic, often overloaded and congested on weekends, holidays and Tet.

Previously, in September 2024, an expansion joint on Long Thanh Bridge was also repaired due to damage, forcing the highway to be partially fenced off for repair work.
