(DN)- According to the Department of Health, there are currently 8 pharmaceutical manufacturing companies in Dong Nai province. Of these, 5 companies have their headquarters in Bien Hoa city; 2 companies have their headquarters in Nhon Trach district; 1 company has its headquarters in Long Thanh district.

With a large area and large population, Dong Nai also has a very large number of pharmacies and drugstores with 42 drug wholesalers; 270 retail establishments of herbal medicines and traditional medicines; 1,300 pharmacies; 2,400 drugstores. In addition, the province also has 21 cosmetic manufacturing establishments.

Regarding the bidding for drug procurement, the results of the selection of contractors for centralized drug procurement at the local level for use at medical facilities in the province in the period of 2025-2026 have been approved by the Department of Health with a contract implementation period of 24 months, starting from February 27, 2025. This includes more than 3,600 items with a value of nearly 4 trillion VND.

Centrally purchased drugs include: generic drugs, original brand-name drugs, traditional drugs, herbal drugs, medicinal herbs, traditional medicinal ingredients and vaccines.
