On the morning of September 13, the Board of Directors of Phuoc Tan 1 Middle School, Phuoc Tan Ward, decided to let 1,300 students in grades 7 and 9 take a day off to clean their classrooms after floodwaters flooded in.
Previously, on September 12, floodwater from the Buong River flooded Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School, causing classrooms and functional rooms on the ground floor to be deeply flooded, about 1 meter in some places.
By the morning of September 13, the water had receded. School officials, teachers, and staff gathered to clean up and sweep mud from classrooms. Depending on the actual situation, the school will allow students to return to school as normal.

Phuoc Tan 1 Secondary School is located in a low-lying area, so in recent years, whenever it rains heavily, the Buong River rises and overflows, affecting teaching and learning.
According to records, in the communes of Binh An, An Vien, and Hung Thinh, which were partially flooded due to heavy rain on September 12, the consequences have now been basically overcome and people's lives have returned to normal.
