Dong Nai Provincial People's Committee has just approved the project to convert the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into an urban - commercial - service area.

The project's objective is to build a new civilized, modern and sustainably developed urban - service - commercial area, creating a distinctive aesthetic appearance for the area in particular and Bien Hoa City in general; improve the environment, limit water pollution of the Dong Nai river system.

Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park was established in 1963 with the name Bien Hoa Industrial Park. After 1975, Bien Hoa Industrial Park changed its name to Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park.

In May 2020, the Prime Minister issued a decision approving the project to renovate and upgrade the technical infrastructure of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park, which stipulates that Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park is organized and operates according to the regulations on industrial parks, export processing zones, and high-tech zones.

At the end of January 2021, the Prime Minister issued a document approving the removal of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park from the development plan of Vietnam's industrial parks.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, the roadmap for relocating enterprises to implement the project of converting the function of Bien Hoa 1 Industrial Park into Bien Hoa 1 commercial and service urban area will be completed before December 2025. According to a report by Sonadezi Corporation, the cost of compensation and site clearance when implementing the project is more than 7.5 trillion VND.
