The landslide situation on Kien Giang riverbank has greatly affected the agricultural land area of farmers in the area.

According to local people, the cause of the rapid and increasingly serious landslides is partly due to annual floods.

But partly because the authorities of Quang Binh province have granted licenses to exploit sand and gravel on the river section through Truong Thuy commune for many years.

Speaking to reporters, Mr. Phan Huu Tinh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Truong Thuy Commune (Le Thuy District, Quang Binh) shared: "The local government and many people hope that the higher authorities will consider limiting the granting of construction material mining permits on the Kien Giang River section through the commune to avoid increasingly serious landslides.

At the same time, superiors support local authorities with funds to build anti-erosion embankments in affected residential areas.
