After being sworn in on January 20, new US President Donald Trump signed a series of first documents in his second term.
After Donald Trump's inauguration, the new US President signed a number of documents, including his first executive orders. The signing took place at the Capitol (US Congress building).
In one of his first acts as president, Mr. Trump signed an executive order to raise the American flag as usual on all presidential inauguration days from now on, despite the fact that the country was in a state of mourning at the time.
The reason for this decree is that the US is still in the process of remembering the passing of the late President Jimmy Carter, leading to controversy over whether to fly the American flag on presidential inauguration day or not.
ABC News reported that immediately after Mr. Trump signed the first documents, the American flag at the White House was raised to full height.

Before the traditional inaugural luncheon at the Capitol, Mr. Trump signed a series of executive orders nominating or appointing senior positions in the federal government, including cabinet members and more than 30 acting positions.
The appointments to the acting positions will take effect immediately, allowing his team to quickly take over power and run the government , an aide to Trump said.
Mr. Jason Miller, senior advisor to Mr. Trump, told CNN that on the same day, the new US President will sign a number of other documents at Capital One Arena, where the post-inauguration celebration event will take place.
Notably, several influential Democratic figures, including former President Bill Clinton’s family, declined invitations to the inaugural luncheon, which was attended by members, cabinet nominees and business tycoons close to Mr. Trump.

After the luncheon, Mr. Trump headed to the Capital One Arena, where thousands of supporters were waiting.
Normally, the president and his entourage would walk down Pennsylvania Avenue to the White House after taking the oath of office. However, due to the cold temperatures in Washington, the presidential parade was moved indoors to the Capital One Arena.
The venue has a capacity of about 20,000 people. A table was set up on the stage for Mr. Trump to continue signing some of his first executive orders.
ABC News described President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump holding hands as they walked into Capital One Arena, participating in the military parade to enthusiastic applause.
The atmosphere was similar to Mr Trump's campaign rallies, with attendees wearing red "Make America Great Again" hats. Mr Trump shook hands with supporters, many of whom held up their mobile phones to film him as he entered.
According to CNN , Mr. Trump is expected to speak at the celebration with Vice President JD Vance.
After the parade, Mr. Trump moved to the Oval Office inside the White House...
