On October 14, the Civil Defense Command of Tan Long commune ( Dong Thap province) had a quick report on the landslide on the Tien river bank.
The landslide occurred late on October 13, measuring approximately 30 meters in length and extending 20 meters inland, causing the collapse of a resident’s kitchen and several crops. The area affected 11 households, the nearest of which was approximately 5 meters from the site of the landslide.

Immediately after the landslide, the Commune Civil Defense Command and other departments and branches actively coordinated to count and inspect the damage. The local government encouraged and mobilized households affected by the landslide to try to overcome the situation and stabilize their lives.
The Commune People's Committee assigned the Commune Police, Militia, and Hamlet People's Committee to support affected households in moving their houses to a safe place, ensuring the "four on-site" motto.

According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of the province, in the communes and wards, there were more than 70 landslides with a length of more than 7km, estimated cost to repair about 505 billion VND.
In recent days, landslides have occurred continuously along the Tien River bank in Dong Thap province. The Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee has declared an emergency situation for landslides on the Tien River in the area of the bank erosion prevention embankment in Thuong Phuoc commune and Nguyen Huong street in Cao Lanh ward.
