Dong Xoai launches Action Month 'Gender equality and safety for women in the digital age'

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman of Dong Xoai Ward People's Committee Nguyen Thi Bich Thuan said: Over the past years, Dong Xoai Ward has made many efforts in implementing gender equality policies, enhancing the role of women in the family, in labor, in state management and participating in community activities. However, despite the positive achievements, in reality, gender-based violence still exists in many sophisticated forms; women and children are still vulnerable groups; the gap in development opportunities in the digital technology context is still evident.

Therefore, this year's action month with the theme "Gender equality and safety for women in the digital age" is of special importance, not only in terms of propaganda and speaking out, but also in terms of taking concrete actions: respecting, protecting, and supporting women and children in their studies, work, access to technology, in cyberspace, and family life.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Secretary of the Youth Union of Quang Trung High School for the Gifted, Nguyen Nhat Truong, also pledged to use social networks in a civilized and responsible manner; resolutely say no to violence, prejudice and discrimination; protect women and children from abuse in real and online environments. This will contribute to spreading the message of love, respect and equality in families, schools and communities.
