Vietnam Futsal Team finalizes list of players for 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship

On October 30, head coach Giustozzi Diego finalized 14 players on the official list of the Vietnam Futsal Team to participate in the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship.

The Vietnam futsal team recently had a training trip in Thailand with two quality friendly matches. Coach Diego Giustozzi and his team won against Hongyen Thakam Club and the Australian futsal team with scores of 6-4 and 5-3 respectively.

Through these two friendly matches, coach Diego Giustozzi not only successfully tested his attacking strategies and team formation but also helped his players get used to the pressure of high-intensity competition. From there, he created a favorable foundation for the team to enter the Southeast Asian Futsal Championship with the highest spirit and determination.

On October 30, head coach Diego Giustozzi made the final decision on the list of 14 players participating in the 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship. Accordingly, two players had to say goodbye to their teammates, goalkeeper Tran Van Luong and ala Ngo Ngoc Son.

Young goalkeeper Tran Van Luong, despite showing a lot of progress, still cannot compete with experienced seniors like Ho Van Y or Pham Van Tu. Meanwhile, veteran goalkeeper Ngo Ngoc Son suffered an unfortunate injury and was forced to give up his position to another player.

According to coach Diego Raul Giustozzi, the futsal teams in Southeast Asia have all improved, so the competition is higher than before. However, Vietnamese players have also changed and improved. "I believe the team will achieve its goals, first of all, overcoming the challenges in the group stage," coach Diego Raul Giustozzi emphasized. The 2024 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship will take place from November 2-10, 2024 in Thailand. According to the draw results, the Vietnamese futsal team is in Group A with host Thailand, Malaysia, Brunei and Timor Leste. Meanwhile, Group B includes Indonesia, Myanmar, Australia and Cambodia. The teams will compete in a round-robin format to calculate rankings in each group. The first and second teams in each group will qualify for the semi-finals. According to Coach Diego Raul Giustozzi, Futsal teams in Southeast Asia have all improved, so the competition is higher than before. However, Vietnamese players have also changed and improved./.
