In fact, before Phu Tho province was established and put into operation, National Highway 2A, the section connecting Vinh Yen city (old) to Viet Tri city (old), was always overloaded due to the narrow roadway and crowded traffic at all times of the day, causing many problems such as prolonged travel time, potential risks of traffic jams and accidents. This is the biggest basis for Vinh Phuc province (old) to approve the implementation plan of the Railway Parallel Road Project to reduce the load on National Highway 2A and shorten travel time, increasing the efficiency of trade between the two areas of Vinh Yen and Viet Tri.
The project is named so because this route runs along the Hanoi - Lao Cai railway line that has existed for hundreds of years, where French engineers spent a lot of effort to carefully calculate the terrain and topography before construction to save maximum effort and money as well as shorten the length as possible.
Some sections of the route are under urgent construction.
A basic section of the roadbed is completed.
To date, the project has been approved for two packages divided into two routes, North and South, with a total length of 10.1km and a value of VND871 billion. After completing these two packages, it is expected that the next package connecting Provincial Road 304 to Hac Tri Bridge will soon be approved for traffic on the entire route, bringing great social benefits to the people in the area.
Comrade Nguyen Khac Hieu, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, said that this parallel route is very important in connecting the two regions, because it meets the huge travel needs of cadres, civil servants, public employees and the trading activities of the people when the new Phu Tho province has officially come into operation.
Construction and site clearance at the same time is an important solution to speed up project implementation progress.
According to the leader of the Vinh Phuc Project Management Board, the project is currently facing the biggest difficulty and problem in the site clearance stage. If this problem is not resolved, the goal of completing the project in 2025 will be very difficult.
Faced with this situation, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Khac Hieu requested the Vinh Phuc Regional Project Management Board to strengthen coordination with relevant agencies, units and localities to urgently remove difficulties and obstacles in land inventory, ownership, and verification. Report promptly to the Provincial People's Committee for timely direction to resolve arising issues. Request the investor to urge construction units to mobilize machinery and human resources to focus on implementing the project with the motto of "wherever the site is, construct there"; speed up progress, determined to complete the project before December 31, 2025. Request localities where the project passes through to actively coordinate to remove difficulties, continue to promote propaganda, mobilize people to accept the land clearance policy; publicize and make transparent the State's support policies and mechanisms as well as legal regulations on land clearance; Hand over the site as it becomes available and hand over the entire project site before October 30, 2025.
We believe that with the support and consensus of the people, the active participation of relevant units and localities as well as the strong direction of the Provincial People's Committee, the Railway Parallel Road Project will be completed on schedule, bringing joy to every home.
