Children's Braille Book Project: Sowing Seeds of Love

The invisible eyes can still 'read' the light of the soul through sharing. And sincere sharing is a miracle that not only lights up the faith and joy of the receiver but also warms the heart of the giver.

Harry is a special whale shark living in the vast ocean. He is gentle and loves nature, every day he collects magical stories from the waves and the stars. Harry is passionate about the ancient Tarot deck - the cards contain the philosophy that he discovered through his journey of swimming everywhere. He decided to write a book about his own adventure to share with everyone, sending his love for the blue sea and the message of environmental protection to young readers.

Lessons on friendship and green living among marine species

In the spring of 2024, after many months of hard work, Harry completed the work Tarot Journey - The Adventure of the Whale Shark . This unique book combines fascinating spiritual experiences about Tarot and the magical world of the deep sea. In the story, Harry - the main character - leads readers to explore the mysterious meaning of ancient Tarot cards through a modern lens, interwoven with lessons about friendship and green living among all marine species. With an engaging and philosophical narrative, the work promises to bring extraordinary experiences to both young and adult readers. Harry is very fond of the message he conveys: cherish the ocean, live in harmony with nature, and share knowledge and love with everyone around.

When the book was completed, Harry received enthusiastic support from many friends. A seahorse artist named Hang illustrated Harry's adventures with colorful ocean paintings. On Harry's back, she drew an image of a whale shark carrying a shining yellow star - a symbol of peace and goodwill that Harry wanted to spread from his homeland of Vietnam.

In April 2024, Harry held a grand book launch in the heart of the city. At the bustling Ho Chi Minh City Book Street, the author's whale shark appeared to the warm welcome of everyone. Many young readers, parents and teachers came to interact with Harry at that special event. The stage was decorated like a miniature ocean, with a model of Harry's whale shark smiling next to the coral reefs. Harry excitedly told stories about his book writing journey, performed some small Tarot "magic" and signed each book with its fin. Everyone was captivated by the magical story and humane message that Harry shared.

The book fair was a bustling affair that day. Harry was deeply moved to see all the special guests joining in the fun. Representatives from the Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association and the Ho Chi Minh City Writers Association - two places where Harry participated - were also present to present congratulatory flowers and provide media support for the event.

Although the launch party ended successfully, Harry still had one thing on his mind. Looking at the children eagerly passing around the new book, Harry suddenly remembered a special girl he had met - a girl named Huong Giang. Huong Giang was a passionate little reader but not as lucky as many others: she was blind, with only 0.25/10 vision in her eyes since she was a child. Yet she was talented and determined.

At 19 years old, Huong Giang has traveled to many countries and dreams of becoming a psychologist to help blind people around the world. She has a clear voice and has been an active contributor to the radio program "Belief in Light" on VOV Traffic for many years. Huong Giang's optimism and brilliance make few people think that she is a blind person who has had to overcome many dark spots in life. Huong Giang's example of perseverance is a great source of inspiration for Harry.

The light of knowledge needs to be shared with eyes that cannot see.

Thinking of Huong Giang and many other blind children, Harry decided to do something. "The light of knowledge also needs to be shared with eyes that cannot see," he told himself. So Harry embarked on a new project called "NOI". The name reminds people of the Braille letters used by the blind, and also means "connect" - connecting hearts with love and knowledge. Harry sought to convert the entire content of his book into Braille with the advice of experienced teachers at Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School - a school for blind students. The Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association and Comicola Publishing Company also continued to accompany and support Harry with funding and communication for this project.

As planned, in May 2024, Harry completed the first phase of the project. 130 Braille books of Tarot Journey - The Adventure of the Whale Shark were printed, carefully bound into volumes, and donated to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Special School. A portion of the books were sent to the school library for long-term storage, while Harry wanted to hand the rest to students with outstanding achievements in the 2023-2024 school year.

That morning, Harry visited the special school. Harry was invited to the podium, next to the headmaster, to present the Braille books as awards to the exemplary students. The small hands timidly took the thick books, then touched the embossed covers with the image of Harry the whale shark. Without anyone telling them, the children's faces lit up with joy. They were "reading" books - an experience that seemed far away, now a reality thanks to the Braille books that Harry brought.

In response to Harry’s kindness, the blind students gave him a priceless gift. On the stage, a group of blind children performed a special performance. Their clear singing voices were accompanied by the simple sound of a guitar. It was a song about love of life, about kindness and the wonderful things we can do when we share with each other.

The award ceremony ended in a joyful atmosphere. Harry smiled brightly among the students. Teachers at Nguyen Dinh Chieu School thanked Harry for his dedication to his special students. Representatives of the Ho Chi Minh City Advertising Association were also present to celebrate, proud of the meaningful journey Harry had undertaken. Harry looked into the distance, as if he saw Huong Giang smiling and nodding at him. He silently thanked that special inspirational friend - thanks to Huong Giang's determination, he dared to dream so big.

The modern fairy tale of Harry will be told forever. Somewhere between the ocean and the land, the seeds of love that Harry sowed have begun to sprout. Blind children hold the Braille book in their hands, feeling each word and imagining the brilliant world that Harry has drawn. Each page of the Braille book is a ladder that leads them to knowledge and aspirations.

That day, Harry learned the most valuable lesson of his adventurous life: giving is forever. Harry the whale shark swam forward leisurely, carrying the sparkling star of hope on his back. His journey continued, promising more miracles to come - miracles of kindness, green living and endless sharing.
