After more than a month of impressive growth, green coffee prices in the provinces have accelerated to a high level, from 94,300 - 94,700 VND/kg in early July. This price increase is also reflected in the impressive export results of the Vietnamese coffee industry. In the first 7 months of 2025, coffee export turnover reached 6 billion USD, up 55% over the same period and exceeding the whole of 2024.
The global coffee market is also seeing many factors supporting the price increase. Tight supplies from Brazil are one of the main reasons. Brazil’s Ministry of Commerce reported that the country’s unroasted coffee exports in July fell 20.4% compared to the same month last year.
Meanwhile, ICE Arabica inventories have fallen to a 14.5-month low, reinforcing the bullish outlook. While ICE Robusta inventories have shown signs of increasing, a stronger Brazilian Real is also easing selling pressure from Brazilian coffee producers.
However, the market is still closely watching US tariff policy, especially President Trump's decision to exempt coffee from the 50% tariff on Brazilian exports. If this tariff is applied, it could affect the market and increase Brazil's coffee inventories.

Regarding Vietnam's export situation, in the first 7 months of the year, total export output reached about 1.05 million tons. Europe is still the main market, accounting for 59% of export turnover. However, recently, Vietnamese enterprises are facing challenges from foreign-invested companies (FDI), when the market share of green coffee bean exports of this bloc has increased to 42.7%.
In particular, LDC has risen to the number 1 position in exporting green coffee, surpassing leading enterprises such as Intimex, Vinh Hiep or Simexco Dak Lak. This shows the fierce competition in the export market, especially when Vietnamese enterprises are having to deal with sharing the tax burden when exporting to the US market.
