Domestic pepper price updated on February 12, 2025 |
According to statistics, after Tet, pepper prices increased by an average of VND9,000 - 11,000/kg. Some businesses and experts predict that pepper prices will continue to stay high this year.
Experts say that domestic pepper prices are on an upward trend due to high export demand and limited supply. Therefore, pepper prices may continue to increase in the short term, especially if the Chinese market, one of the largest customers of Vietnamese pepper, increases imports again. However, pepper prices may stagnate as supplies from the new harvest are gradually replenished.
In the international market, pepper prices are being greatly affected by reduced supply in major producing countries such as Vietnam, Brazil and Indonesia. However, global consumption demand remains stable, especially in major markets such as the US and EU. This will continue to support pepper prices to remain high in the coming time.
