10-day weather forecast from the night of January 8 and latest Northeast monsoon news

The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting has issued a Northeast Monsoon bulletin and weather forecast for the next 10 days, from tonight, January 8, to January 18, for the whole country.

Accordingly, currently (afternoon of January 8), in the North, a cold air mass is moving to the South.

It is forecasted that on land, around the morning of January 10, this cold air mass will affect the Northeast region of the North; then affect other places in the Northeast, most of the North Central and Northwest regions. Northeast wind inland will strengthen to level 2-3; coastal areas level 3.

From January 10, the weather in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An will turn cold, with some mountainous areas experiencing severe cold.

During this cold air mass, the lowest temperature in the North, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An is generally from 16-18 degrees Celsius, in the mountainous areas of the North it is 13-15 degrees Celsius, in the high mountainous areas it is below 10 degrees Celsius in some places.

At sea, from early morning on January 10, in the Gulf of Tonkin, strong northeast wind level 5, sometimes level 6, gusting to level 7, waves 1.5-2.5m high, rough sea.

From the afternoon and night of January 10, the North East Sea (including the waters of Hoang Sa archipelago) has strong northeast winds gradually increasing to level 6, especially in the Northeast sea area at times level 7, gusting to level 8, waves 2-4m high, rough seas; the sea area west of the South East Sea area (including the waters west of Truong Sa archipelago) has strong northeast winds of level 6, gusting to level 7, rough seas, waves 2-3.5m high.

Weather forecast for the regions in the next 24 to 48 hours

Northern region and Thanh Hoa, Nghe An: rain in some places, early morning fog and scattered light fog, sunny afternoon; from the night of January 9, there will be scattered rain. Night and early morning will be cold; from January 10, the weather will turn cold, some mountainous areas of the North will be very cold.

From Ha Tinh to Binh Dinh, there will be scattered showers; from January 10, there will be scattered showers.

Other areas have scattered showers at night, sunny during the day.

Weather forecast from night of January 10 to January 18

Northern region, Thanh Hoa and Nghe An from the night of January 10-12, there will be scattered rain and light rain; from the night of January 12-14, there will be rain, showers and thunderstorms in some places; from the night of January 10-14, the weather will continue to be cold.

From Ha Tinh to Phu Yen, there will be scattered rain and showers from the night of January 10-13. In the North, it will be cold.

Other areas have scattered showers in the evening and at night; sunny during the day, except for the Southeast region which has localized heat.

Frost appears in Mu Cang Chai during the cold spell at the end of December 2023.
