Members of the Ba Ria Guitar Club perform in the program "Street Music". |
Burn with passion
At 7:30 p.m. last Sunday, at Ba Ria Square, the program "Street Music" began. The rustic guitar sounds, the pounding cajon drums, and the inspiring voices of the young people created an open and interesting street music space. The familiar songs, but through improvisation, the sweet voices of the singers and the band made the square sublime and full of excitement. The audience was immersed in the melody of the song, freely dancing and waving their hands to the music.
The Ba Ria Guitar Club was founded in 2020 with more than 20 members aged 16-25. They have in common a passion for music, a talent for singing and a love for creating new songs with gentle, cheerful melodies. Every Sunday evening, the club organizes a performance called “Street Music” at Ba Ria Square. The club’s performances are voluntary and free of charge to serve the community.
To have impressive performances for the audience, the young members of the club maintain regular practice every Tuesday and Thursday evening. Mr. Tran Hoai Nghia, Head of the Ba Ria Guitar Club, said that the members of the group have different jobs and ages. They have not been formally trained in school, but with their love of music, the members always support and help each other and explore and learn together. The proficient ones guide the new ones, together helping the club develop more and more.
Ngo Bao Tuong, a student at Tran Van Quan High School (Long Dien Town, Long Dat District) shared: “I love music and registered to join the Club in 2023. After school, I take advantage of my free time to participate in activities and practice with the members of the Club. For me, music is not only a passion but also helps my soul to be comfortable and relaxed after stressful hours of studying.”
Spread the love of music
The improvisation in the performance has connected strangers together. Here, no need to play well or sing well, just have passion for everyone to be able to join in the musical atmosphere.

Mr. Tran Hoai Nghia added that after many years of playing music on the street, the club also had many beautiful memories. That was when a group of young people passing by saw the group singing their favorite song, they danced, sang, and moved along to the music together. Those were the greetings and encouragement from the familiar audience who were always present, listening from the beginning to the end of the show, the applause... Those things were the source of encouragement that added strength and inspiration for the band to continue contributing to the community. The club hopes that in the future, it will attract more members and help the acoustic music movement in Ba Ria City develop.
Walking with his family and stopping by to enjoy the performances of the Club, Mr. Nguyen Bao (Ba Ria City) said: “The familiar songs that have been renewed by the young people have inspired everyone. I was also attracted by their charm, so this place has become a meeting place for my family on weekends. Music is an invisible thread that connects all hearts. Useful playgrounds like this need to be replicated.”
Through the program "Street Music", Ba Ria Guitar Club has connected the community, spread the love of music, and made life more joyful and meaningful.
