Immediately after the Giap Thin Spring Festival 2024 was officially opened on the afternoon of February 3, 2024, tourists and residents of the ancient capital of Hue flocked to check-in with the miniatures on Le Loi flower street.
Among them, the dragon mascots attract the most attention.
Two dragon mascots over 30m long, placed in front of Quoc Hoc stele, have attracted the attention of locals and tourists.
"Song Long" is designed based on the image of Nguyen Dynasty dragons, arranged symmetrically in the "dragon facing the moon" position through a main axis with a gentle, slender rhythmic structure, with a soft, lively curving shape like the winding curves of the poetic Huong River.
Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thao (30 years old) rated this pair of dragons as one of the most beautiful dragon mascots after seeing many dragon mascots in provinces and cities across the country.
Mr. Nguyen Van Sy (50 years old, residing in Phuoc Vinh ward) expressed his interest in the two dragon mascots on Quoc Hoc stele and said that they are very suitable for Hue culture.
Many foreign tourists also visited and took photos with the dragon mascot of Hue city.
The dragon mascot at the fountain in front of the People's Committee of Thua Thien Hue province also attracts the attention of the people. This is also a place for people to have fun during holidays and Tet.
This dragon mascot is modeled after the "National Seal of Trust" - a royal treasure of the Nguyen Dynasty, surrounded by carp, as a wish for a good new year, development and a breakthrough "transforming into a dragon" of Hue.
In addition to "Tam Long", other spring-welcoming works such as dragon boats at the head of Phu Xuan bridge and orchid gardens at Truong Tien bridge are also highlights for tourists to visit and take photos.
More than 300,000 flowers of all kinds in parks and green spots have created a "flower park" stretching along the Huong River, concentrated in places such as in front of Quoc Hoc stele, Ly Tu Trong park, Phu Xuan bridge head, Truong Tien bridge, etc.
