Expected to maintain the status quo of state-owned companies and enterprises of Ca Mau and Bac Lieu after merger

On the afternoon of May 20, the Working Group to advise on the construction of the political system project of Ca Mau province after the merger of Bac Lieu and Ca Mau provinces held an online meeting and approved a number of contents.

The conference approved the project to establish the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee (based on the merger of the Bac Lieu Provincial Party Committee and the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee). The working group consulted on the plan to establish the Ca Mau Provincial Party Committee (after the merger).

Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Ca Mau province currently has 43 members, the Executive Committee of the Party Committee of Bac Lieu province currently has 36 members. Of the 79 members after the merger, 61 are eligible for re-election for the 2025-2030 term. Establish 55 commune party committees and 9 ward party committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee. Maintain the status quo of the number of subordinate party organizations; advisory and support agencies for the Provincial Party Committee, Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee and public service units.

Regarding the project to reorganize and rearrange provincial government agencies after the merger, Ca Mau province (new) will have 13 specialized agencies under the provincial People's Committee; the People's Committees of the two provinces have 19 public service units, after the reorganization, it is expected to have 16, a reduction of 3 units; receiving the original functions and tasks of the non-budgetary State financial agencies of the two provinces after the merger; maintaining the current status of State-owned companies and enterprises of the two provinces after the merger.

At the conference, delegates basically agreed on the Project to organize the Vietnam Fatherland Front of the province, provincial socio -political organizations, and mass organizations assigned by the Party and State at the provincial level after the merger.

In his concluding remarks, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ca Mau province Pham Thanh Ngai (Head of the Working Group) accepted the comments of the two localities, requested the drafting committee to continue to make reasonable adjustments, especially specific and realistic figures, and soon submit them to the Standing Committees of the two provinces for approval.

According to Mr. Pham Thanh Ngai, there is not much time left, the work is still quite large, it is expected that by June 30, the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee of the two localities will approve the personnel plan, so related contents need to be proactively coordinated closely, accurately, and on schedule.
