Many unique and impressive programs are expected to be held at the Festival for Peace.

At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Nam - Vice Chairman of Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee presented the draft scenario and framework program of the activities of the Festival for Peace in 2024.

The program is organized to honor the value of peace, commemorate and pay tribute to the heroic martyrs who heroically sacrificed for the survival of the country, commemorate the victims of war, the painful losses caused by war, and promote and contribute to enhancing the image of Vietnam and the land and people of Quang Tri. At the same time, build Quang Tri into a cultural space for peace, contributing to the development of local tourism .

The program has the following main activities: Cycling Festival for Peace; Opening of the Festival for Peace; Music Exchange “Melody of Peace”; Cultural-Culinary Festival “Taste of Sunland”; Peace Wish Program. These events take place from the end of June to the end of July 2024.

In particular, the Cycling Day for Peace is an activity before the opening ceremony of the peace festival with the content of a bicycle parade, organizing a number of short races, visiting and giving gifts, environmental activities and promoting before the festival.

The activity aims to introduce some typical historical relics in the province, promote the cultural image of the land and people of Quang Tri to people across the country and abroad about the aspiration for peace of the Vietnamese people in general and Quang Tri people in particular in the struggles for peace.

From there, build a message towards a world of peace, stability and prosperity. The event takes place from June 29-30 at the Hien Luong-Ben Hai historical site, Truong Son National Martyrs Cemetery and Quang Tri Ancient Citadel with the participation of amateur cyclists from national and international cycling clubs (Laos, Cambodia, Thailand cycling clubs); the expected number of athletes attending the festival is 500 to 1000.

The opening program of the festival for peace with the theme “Connecting the spans of time”. The spans in the program were inspired by Hien Luong bridge - a historical witness of the Vietnamese people, not only symbolizing the aspiration for unification but also expressing the spirit of connecting the values of the past, present and future in the land that carries the footprints on the journey of peace-loving people.

The theme “Connecting the Rhythms of Time” also carries a message conveying a similar desire that people all over the world aspire to at any time. That is the desire for happiness, prosperity, justice and charity.

This event is scheduled to take place from 20:00 to 21:30 on July 6, at the Hien Luong - Ben Hai National Special Monument. This is the first time there is a music stage combining multiple spaces on the banks and under the river connecting the two North - South axes of the Hien Luong River, creating a special art program with three touches in one performance space. The artistic idea is an emotional touch point carrying the spirit of integration of Vietnam, expected to be an annual program with influence in the world, focusing on the land of Quang Tri, where the vestiges of a heroic and glorious time are preserved, of the stature of the times, connecting international friendship with historical sediments - friendly people - unique culture.

The art program will apply modern performance technology combined with in-depth art staging that is calculated to balance the content and the way of expression in the program. Music and performance are a special combination of Vietnamese and international artists. The artists perform musical works of the same arrangements that are performed for the first time, bringing extremely new performances.

The art program is expected to be divided into the following chapters: Chapter 1: Joyful Song; Chapter 2: Connecting Sound; Chapter 3: Wishes.

The drone show is a drone art light show with the theme "Epic of Aspiration" using traditional musical instruments to perform unique melodies composed and renewed to suit the content of the drone show.

In addition, combining with typical art forms such as poetry recitation, rice pounding songs... not only promotes the unique cultural features of Vietnam in general and Quang Tri province in particular, but also raises the sound of peace, in line with the theme of the event consisting of three chapters with 700 to 800 drones.

The music exchange program “Melody of Peace”, including Trinh Cong Son’s music night “Song of Peace” on the evening of July 8 at Fiden Park, Dong Ha city.

The international music exchange program Melody of Peace will take place on July 9-10 at the provincial cultural and cinema center. With the message "Melody of Peace", it is one of the unique concert programs that brings the audience a musical experience that conveys the power of love, connecting people with people. Through each melody, each colorful performance, the program conveys an inspirational message about life in a positive way.

The Cultural-Culinary Festival “Taste of the Sunflower Region of Quang Tri 2024” will take place from July 12-14 at Cua Viet tourist area, Gio Linh district, Quang Tri province. With a scale of 100 booths, of which 20% are international booths, typical special dishes, demonstrating the culinary culture of the three regions of Vietnam.

The program "Peace Wish" is scheduled to take place from 20:00 to 21:00 on July 26, at the flower-releasing dock on the North bank of Thach Han River and the special national relic of Quang Tri Citadel. This is one of the main activities of the Festival for Peace taking place in Quang Tri, aiming at the element of consciousness about the source, containing noble humanistic spiritual values.

The program's main objective is to honor and admire the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives to protect the country's independence. At the same time, it also aims to commemorate the victims of war around the world.

The program not only aims at good values in life, paying tribute to the previous generation who sacrificed for the country's peace and independence, but also contributes to inspiring feelings of pride and inspiration for today's generation to confidently move forward on the journey of integration and building a prosperous nation.

At the meeting, Mr. Hoang Nam requested the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to provide comments and draft the overall script for the Festival. At the same time, he requested the Ministry to preside over and coordinate with the People's Committee of Quang Tri province and related units to develop the script and organize the program "Peace Wish".

Also at the meeting, representatives of the leaders of the units of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism gave suggestions for Quang Tri province to unify the name of the program, both in English and Vietnamese. In addition, it is necessary to calculate additional solemn, rich and attractive activities, contributing to honoring the heroic martyrs, promoting the image of Vietnam tourism in general, Quang Tri in particular and attracting domestic and foreign tourists to Quang Tri.

In particular, there is a need for more specialized activities in tourism and sports such as: organizing famtrip groups to survey tourism, tourism seminars, boat racing, windsurfing, shooting, marathon, OCOP fair, beautiful photo exhibition of Quang Tri... The programs not only show the heroic and grandeur but also show the innovation of Quang Tri land, the joy and peace of the land for peace.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Ta Quang Dong affirmed that the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism will assign specialized units to closely coordinate with the province to provide the best support for Quang Tri province to successfully organize the Festival for Peace in 2024./.
