Mai Son breaks through from private economic strength

Mr. Nguyen Anh Thu, Vice Chairman of Mai Son Commune People's Committee, shared: After the merger, the population of the commune is more than 52,300 people, becoming the most populous locality in the province; besides, the commune has National Highways 6 and 37 passing through the area, convenient for trading goods. Exploiting the potential and advantages, the commune is focusing on developing the private economy . From small-scale production, the private economic sector in Mai Son commune has become an important economic force, increasingly affirming its role in socio-economic development. Up to now, the whole commune has 8 enterprises, 39 cooperatives, and more than 1,200 individual business households.

Hung An Mai Construction and Materials Production Company Limited, Sub-area 10, is a typical unit in production, business and good compliance with tax obligations of Mai Son commune. In recent times, the Company has always received active support from the locality in terms of production premises, creating favorable conditions to complete investment procedures, expand business scale, invest in modern production lines, and optimize production processes.

Mr. Mai Van Hung, Director of Hung An Mai Construction and Materials Production Company Limited, informed: The company currently has 4 modern brick and construction stone production lines, with a capacity of 10 million bricks and 50,000 m³ of stone/year; creating stable jobs for nearly 50 workers and seasonal workers, with an income of 5-10 million VND/person/month. To improve product quality, the company invested in a non-burnt brick production line using static pressing technology, using available raw materials from stone powder and cement. Production activities are automated, thus saving labor, production costs and protecting the environment.

OHAYO Cooperative, Binh Minh sub-area, is a model of conversion from household production to a new, systematic collective economy. Established in 2021, the Cooperative has 22 members, growing 55 hectares of custard apples and strawberries; of which, 35 hectares of custard apples have been harvested, mainly Taiwanese and Thai custard apples, durian custard apples and traditional custard apples. The entire production area follows VietGAP and organic processes; products are labeled with traceability to ensure origin and OCOP recognition.

Mr. Tran Ngoc Bang, Director of OHAYO Cooperative, said: Currently, the custard apple area of ​​the Cooperative has an average yield of 20 tons/ha; the Taiwanese custard apple variety alone yields 2 crops/year. The total output reaches more than 600 tons, with a revenue of over 30 billion VND/year. The entire custard apple growing area of ​​the Cooperative is recognized as a high-tech application area; the products are trusted by consumers and have stable consumption in Thanh Hoa province, Hanoi city, Hai Phong...

The goal by 2030 is that the number of enterprises, cooperatives, and business households will increase by 10-20% compared to the previous term. The commune is building open policies to facilitate people and businesses to register their businesses. After nearly 3 months of implementing the 2-level local government model, nearly 50 households have registered their businesses. In addition, the commune focuses on improving the investment environment; promoting administrative procedure reform; strengthening dialogue with enterprises and cooperatives to promptly resolve problems right at the grassroots level; supporting business households and cooperatives to use electronic invoices, e-wallets, and social networks to sell goods; providing instructions on registering tax codes, bank accounts, digital identification... to contribute to expanding business activities in accordance with local conditions.

Clearly defining the direction of creating favorable conditions, encouraging people, cooperatives and private enterprises to effectively exploit available potentials and advantages, Mai Son commune is gradually developing a multi-sector economy, contributing to rapid and sustainable development, soon becoming a model new rural commune.
