(QBĐT) - At 8:00 a.m., the SE17 train headed straight to Dong Hoi station. Nearly 300 passengers eagerly got off the train, starting their journey to explore the land and people of Quang Binh . This was a special train because all the passengers were tourists from the capital Hanoi, choosing Quang Binh as their tourist destination.
Today's SE17 train is just one of many charter trains connecting Hanoi and Quang Binh that have been deployed by the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club over the years. Traveling by charter train is always the optimal choice as it brings many benefits to destinations, businesses and tourists.
Cheap price, high quality
Mr. Doan Ngoc Tung, Vice President of the UNESCO Hanoi Travel Club, shared that the implementation of Quang Binh tourism programs by charter train originated on a rather coincidental occasion. That was in 2019, the alliance of travel businesses of the Club conducted a survey of 5-star quality services in Quang Binh. Realizing the potential, advantages and needs of tourists who want to experience high-quality services at reasonable prices, the idea of building a charter train quickly took shape.
In 2020, the Club connected with service providers to conduct 3 charter trips and in the following years, charter trips continued to regularly bring tourists to Quang Binh.
“There were years when we sold enough tours for 8 trips but had to postpone many trips due to the Covid-19 outbreak. Notably, in 2022, there were 7 charter trips to Quang Binh. In 2024, in addition to the trip on June 8, we also sold out seats for both charter trips on June 22 and July 13. Tourist demand is very high, but we cannot rent enough boats to deploy more trips during the year,” the Vice President of the UNESCO Travel Club affirmed.

Quang Binh tour by charter train for 3 days and 4 nights costs from 4,390,000 to 4,999,000 VND/person. Tourists can visit famous places such as Da Nhay beach, Phong Nha cave, Tam Thanh Nien Xung Phong cave, visit the tomb of General Vo Nguyen Giap and enjoy swimming at Nhat Le beach, as well as enjoy Quang Binh specialties at reputable restaurants. Groups of 2 or 100 people have the same price. The tour price includes soft sleeper train tickets, 4-air-conditioned cabins, 2 nights at 3-5 star hotels near the sea, breakfast and main meals according to program standards. Most of the chartered trains have a pre-determined itinerary, following a fixed train schedule. On the train, tourists can participate in cultural exchanges, festivals and some other entertainment needs.
Returning from a trip to explore Quang Binh, Mr. Vo Hoang Anh, a tourist from Thanh Xuan District (Hanoi) excitedly shared that his family of 6 adults and 4 children chose to travel by charter train because they wanted to experience a new and unique form of tourism. Talking to passengers in front of the station, Ms. Le Thi Ngoc Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, affirmed that Quang Binh always welcomes all tourists from all over to visit, experience and explore the land and people here. The local tourism industry always strives to bring the best experiences in response to the favor of tourists for choosing Quang Binh among many other attractive places as a destination.
As shared by the Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism, to welcome this charter train, the department and businesses have made great efforts in promoting, improving service quality, and meeting the increasing needs of tourists.
