Vibrant destination
In the early summer of 2025, the coastal city of Quy Nhon and many famous landmarks of Binh Dinh province became the center of attraction for tourists. Along the central streets of Quy Nhon city, 3 to 5 star hotels were all "fully booked". Even homestays in small alleys were full of guests, showing the growing attraction of local tourism .
The opening ceremony of Binh Dinh Summer Tourism Festival 2025 has just been held and attracted tens of thousands of tourists and visitors to participate.
Ky Co tourist area (Nhon Ly commune, Quy Nhon city) - a place known as "Maldives Quy Nhon" - welcomes thousands of visitors every day. Eo Gio - the most beautiful sunset viewing spot in Vietnam - is always crowded with visitors.
Many other destinations such as Ham Ho, Quang Trung Museum (Tay Son district); Trung Luong - Cat Tien beach (Phu Cat); Nhon Hai, Ghenh Rang (Quy Nhon city) ... also recorded strong growth.
The bustling atmosphere also spread to restaurants, eateries, and entertainment venues. "During my business trip to Quy Nhon in mid-June, I did not have time to book a room in advance. When I arrived, I called several 4-5 star hotels and received the answer: no vacancies!" - Mr. Pham Van Tri, a businessman from Ho Chi Minh City shared.
It is no coincidence that Binh Dinh tourism has flourished so strongly in recent days. Previously, on April 15, 2025, Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee issued Plan No. 73/KH-UBND to specify the Prime Minister's direction on promoting tourism into a driving force for economic growth. In particular, the province focuses on key groups of tasks: promoting, organizing large-scale events, diversifying tourism products, investing in infrastructure, applying digital transformation and developing green - sustainable tourism.
Make a difference with new events and products
The success of Binh Dinh tourism comes from one of the important "weapons": organizing events in a methodical and professional manner. Since the beginning of 2025, the province has deployed a series of national and international activities such as welcoming the first charter flights of the year, a series of events celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Binh Dinh and the reunification of the South.
Ky Co is attracting tourists by its mysterious wild beauty.
In particular, the Opening Ceremony of Binh Dinh Summer Tourism Festival 2025 not only opens the peak tourist season but also becomes a media hit, attracting millions of views from within and outside the country.
Along with the event is the continuous effort to innovate tourism products. Binh Dinh not only exploits the advantages of the sea and islands but also expands many more attractive types: Thi Nai lagoon discovery tour by boat, combined with art and culinary performances; cruise tours to welcome international visitors; Quy Nhon - Dieu Tri tourist train route; and the "heritage train" project connecting Hanoi - Ho Chi Minh City.
In addition, community, ecological, agricultural, cultural-historical-sport tourism models have also been upgraded in quality, contributing to enhancing the experience and extending the length of stay of tourists. This is the transition from "quantity" to "quality", from "sightseeing" to "experience".
This change is quickly reflected in impressive numbers: in 2024, Binh Dinh welcomed about 9.2 million visitors (an increase of more than 80%), with revenue reaching VND 25,500 billion (an increase of 55%). Quy Nhon City continues to be recognized as an "ASEAN Clean Tourist City" for the second consecutive time - affirming its reputation on the regional tourism map.
In the first 4 months of 2025 alone, Binh Dinh welcomed more than 4.2 million visitors, including nearly 40,000 international visitors, with revenue of more than VND 10,170 billion - a strong step towards the goal of welcoming 10 million visitors and revenue of VND 27,000 billion this year.
Looking to the world – building a foundation for sustainable development
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Chung, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Binh Dinh province, said that the province is not stopping at the domestic market but is actively opening its doors to the international market. Key markets are clearly identified: Northeast Asia (Korea, Japan, China), Southeast Asia, Western Europe, North America, Oceania - places with high spending and long stays. At the same time, the province takes advantage of the visa exemption policy to increase attraction and reduce access barriers.
Eo Gio - the most beautiful sunset viewing spot in Vietnam - is always crowded with visitors.
Multimodal transport connectivity is considered the key to breakthroughs: from aviation (increasing the frequency of flights to Phu Cat airport), sea routes (increasing the number of international cruise ships), to railways (developing cruise ship routes connecting key tourist centers in the Central region).
The three pillars of "infrastructure - human resources - technology" are also being invested synchronously. A series of large projects are being accelerated such as runway 2 of Phu Cat airport, Quy Nhon - Pleiku highway, Quang Ngai - Hoai Nhon and Quy Nhon - Chi Thanh routes to increase regional connectivity. In addition, there are intensive human resource training programs in foreign languages, service skills, and destination management.
In particular, Binh Dinh is promoting the application of digital transformation in tourism management, customer interaction, online sales and building a green tourism model - environmentally friendly, energy-saving, contributing to sustainable development.
All these efforts are creating a big change, turning Binh Dinh from a modest destination into a breakthrough locality on the Vietnamese tourism map.
According to Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang, tourism development not only creates direct value but also spreads to many areas such as transportation, trade, and culture. Thereby contributing to promoting comprehensive socio-economic growth.
