TPO - The new Gia Lai province, based on the merger of Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces, has opened up a new development space for tourism. In the first organization of the 2025 National Golf Championship, VinFast Cup - Gia Lai, Gia Lai province hopes that through the event, it will create a new momentum to fully exploit the tourism potential stretching "from the blue sea to the great forest".

After the merger, Gia Lai became the second largest province in the country, after Lam Dong, with an area of over 21,000 km2 and huge potential for tourism development because the newly formed tourism space is both geographically large, rich in resources and stronger in regional connectivity.

Gia Lai province currently stretches “from the blue sea to the great forest”, can develop resort tourism in Quy Nhon, Ky Co - Eo Gio, Nhon Hai - Hon Kho, Ghenh Rang Tien Sa and can combine eco-tourism, explore the great forest of Kon Ka Kinh, Bien Ho, gong culture of the Central Highlands.

Sharing with Tien Phong newspaper , Mr. Nguyen Pham Kien Trung - Vice President of Binh Dinh Tourism Association, Gia Lai province, said that the interesting point between the old Binh Dinh and the old Gia Lai is the "phase difference" in terms of weather. "Previously, the peak tourist season of the old Binh Dinh fell in the summer while the dry season in the old Gia Lai (from November to April) was the ideal time to explore the beauty of the highland", he said, "Therefore, when the two provinces merged, this 'phase difference' complemented each other, helping Gia Lai develop with a larger, more diverse space and suitable for more market segments".

Gia Lai province has identified tourism as one of the five pillars of growth with the orientation of developing tourism into a truly spearhead economic sector, contributing to realizing the goal of making the province a new growth pole of the region. It can be seen that the province has a large potential for tourism development, with the ability to form value chains: from agriculture combined with tourism, smart tourism to developing international-class destinations.
