The Vietnamese women's volleyball team caused many difficulties for the German team - Photo: VOLLEYBALL WORLD
On the opening day, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team made a miracle when they won a set against Poland. Although they lost 1-3, this result was still shocking because everyone thought that coach Nguyen Tuan Kiet's team would lose "cleanly" 0-3.
With high spirits, the whole team was determined to enter the match with Germany, even though this was also a strong opponent. They started with excitement and pursued fiercely.
At one point in the first set, the Vietnamese women's team was trailing by 3 points but managed to equalize. However, the athletes still showed clear weaknesses in the first step.
Germany was not too superior, but they had better technique and knew how to take advantage of their height to jump high to hit the ball. Their blockers successfully neutralized attacks many times thanks to their good jumping range, thereby winning 25-18 in set 1.
In the second set, the Vietnamese team's mentality clearly dropped. They made more mistakes, including in the second set and the shot. Germany quickly reached 24-12, with 12 set points.

At this moment, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team suddenly woke up and played brilliantly. Their previous mistakes completely disappeared, thanks to which they created a series of 5 consecutive points.
But the gap was already too far, and Germany won 25-17. But the Vietnamese girls brought that excitement into the third set. They took the lead for the first time in the match, with a score of 8-5.
After that, despite the opponent's comeback, the Vietnamese team still played resiliently and kept up the chase. Germany only won by a not-so-far score of 25-21 in set 3.
With a 0-3 loss, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team has said goodbye to the 2025 World Championship early. However, scoring more than 15 points in each set against Germany still caused many surprises.
The team will have one more match against Kenya on August 27.
