The event with the theme "Vietnamese Pharmaceuticals in the Digital Age - Future from Innovation and Technology" was jointly organized by the Ministry of Planning and Investment , the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and FPT Corporation.

Attending the event were Politburo member, Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen; Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, leaders of ministries, branches and representatives of Vietnamese enterprises such as EVN, FPT, Techcombank, VNPT. Major global pharmaceutical corporations also participated, including AstraZeneca, Roche, Sanofi, Novartis, MSD, Pfizer, Merck, Takeda, Ferring Pharmaceuticals...
Opening the discussion, Mr. Truong Gia Binh, Chairman of FPT, shared about the potential to attract investment in Vietnam, emphasizing the strong support from the Government in technology strategies and human resource development.
Mr. Binh affirmed that pharmaceuticals is one of the industries that will apply artificial intelligence (AI) the most, especially in vaccine and drug development. According to him, with more than 10 years of experience in researching and developing AI, FPT has witnessed major breakthroughs in this field.
At the seminar, representatives of international pharmaceutical corporations highly appreciated the improvements in the legal framework, especially the Pharmacy Law, to increase access to new drugs and vaccines.
Businesses also expressed optimism about Vietnam's strong commitment to promoting technology through Resolution 57-NQ/TW. They also shared about clinical research projects, production technology transfer and public health improvement programs, and expressed their desire to expand cooperation and investment in Vietnam to turn the country into a competitive research and production center in the region.
Mr. Burak Pekmezci, representative of Pharma Group, shared his impression of Vietnam's ambitious vision of GDP growth and the goal of becoming a high-income developed country by 2045. He affirmed that the pharmaceutical industry will play a key role in achieving this goal, and committed to accompanying the Ministry of Health in implementing scientific, technological and innovative initiatives.
In his closing remarks at the seminar, Politburo member and Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee Nguyen Van Nen emphasized the important role of technology, especially AI and data in the healthcare sector, helping to improve people's quality of life.
He affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will work closely with businesses to implement the proposals in the seminar, promote technological progress and improve public health. Ho Chi Minh City will also implement pilot mechanisms to support pharmaceutical businesses, creating conditions for expanding successful models nationwide.

One of the outstanding projects is the digital transformation solution for Long Chau Pharmacy, helping to improve people's shopping experience and optimize the multi-channel order management process, reducing out-of-stock situations to less than 5%.
Recently, Long Chau Pharmacy has cooperated with RAR Center (Department C06, Ministry of Public Security) to deploy electronic authentication service via VNeID application. This is a part of the electronic health book, helping people track their medical examination and treatment history, prescriptions and drug purchase history conveniently and safely.
