Vietjet 's website has just opened sales for flights between Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Con Dao (Ba Ria - Vung Tau) using the new aircraft. The first flight will take off on April 19.

Vietjet's flights to Con Dao quickly sold out on the first day of sale
As soon as tickets went on sale, flights on April 19 were sold out in both economy and business class. Several flights were also reported to be fully booked in the following days.
Previously, the Ho Chi Minh City - Con Dao route was only operated by VASCO (a subsidiary of Vietnam Airlines ) using ATR72 aircraft. Bamboo Airways once operated the Hanoi - Con Dao route, but had to stop when restructuring and returning the aircraft.
Late last year, Vietjet signed a wet lease contract for two Comac ARJ21s from Chengdu Airlines to serve the Con Dao route. Comac ARJ21s are equipped with American GE CF34-10A engines and Liebherr (Germany) aircraft, with a range of 2,225 - 3,700 km and a capacity of 78 - 97 seats.
