Proud of red
On May 15, 1941, the National Salvation Children's Team was established in Na Ma village, Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province. This is the predecessor of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Team, founded by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh with the first 5 team members, led by Kim Dong.
Over 84 years of establishment and development, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team has contributed to building golden pages of history, actively contributing to the cause of caring for and educating teenagers, children, the future generations of the country, as brave soldiers, intellectuals, scientists, managers, teachers... contributing to glorifying the Fatherland.
Comrade Duong Minh Nguyet, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairman of the Provincial Youth Union, awarded provincial-level Uncle Ho's Good Children certificates to children.
In Tuyen Quang, the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement have always received special attention from Party committees, authorities, organizations and the people. The whole province currently has more than 138,000 Young Pioneers and children participating in activities at 281 Young Pioneers. The movements and activities of the Young Pioneers are widely deployed, closely following Uncle Ho's 5 teachings. Through activities such as "Good study hours - good study weeks", "Clean notebooks, beautiful writing", "Friends helping friends", "Lighting up the dreams of Tuyen Quang children"... the children not only study well, practice well but also know how to love, share and live responsibly.
Many creative models such as “Small Planning House”, “Young Children’s Bookcase”, “Reading Festival”, “Journey to the Red Address” have been effectively implemented. 100% of the provincial Youth Unions have organized thematic activities “Building beautiful friendships, saying no to school violence”, contributing to creating a positive, friendly and safe learning environment.
Ms. Ma Thi Lan, teacher in charge of the Youth Union, Vinh Loc Primary School (Chiem Hoa) shared: “We always determine to innovate the way we do things so that the Youth Union activities are not only attractive but also really useful for the children. When children feel that they are listened to and experienced, they will mature very quickly.”
As the only delegate selected from Chiem Hoa district to attend the 2025 National Uncle Ho's Good Children Congress, Ha Duy Phong, a 5C student and Vice-leader of the Vinh Loc Primary School Youth Union, not only stands out for his impressive academic and movement achievements, but Duy Phong is also a "little leader" full of courage.
From actively participating in Violympic, Vietnamese Champion, English Olympic competitions, to actively helping friends improve their studies, I clearly remember every trip and every emotion when visiting Kim Binh National Relic Site, which used to be an important political center of the Vietnamese revolution.
“I feel very proud because my hometown is the place that marks an important historical event of the country. I feel that I need to try harder to be worthy of being a good nephew of Uncle Ho,” Duy Phong proudly said.
Future aspirations
Not only focusing on preserving and promoting traditional values, the work of the Young Pioneers and the children's movement are gradually adapting to the requirements of innovation, especially in the context of increasingly deep digital transformation. In the 2024-2025 school year, many Young Pioneers in the province have applied the form of monitoring, evaluating and classifying the completion of the "Preparatory Young Pioneers" and "Training Young Pioneers" programs through the "Doing Good Deeds" application. This method not only helps to improve transparency and science in training management, but also motivates children and young Pioneers to proactively strive every day.
The models of "Creative Experience Recess", "I Love Science Club", "Tuyen Quang Children Reach Out to the World" not only help children access technology and develop STEM thinking, but also create a solid foundation, adapting to the development trends of the times.
Comrade Pham Thi Kieu Trang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union, Chairwoman of the Provincial Youth Union Council, said: “The work of the Youth Union in recent times has continued to be implemented synchronously, creatively and closely following reality. We focus on building a comprehensive educational environment for children through experiential models, life skills education and digital transformation applications. In the coming time, we will continue to improve the quality of the team of General Leaders of the Youth Union, build flexible educational models suitable to the conditions of each locality. At the same time, we focus on creating a safe and friendly learning and playing environment so that each Youth Union is truly a second home for the young members. Thereby, helping them to practice and develop comprehensively to become brave, responsible citizens and ready to integrate”.
