Proud of the color red
On May 15, 1941, the Children's National Salvation Team was established in Na Ma village, Truong Ha commune, Ha Quang district, Cao Bang province. This was the predecessor organization of the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Team, founded by the Communist Party of Vietnam and President Ho Chi Minh with 5 initial members, led by Kim Dong as Team Leader.
Over 84 years of development and growth, the Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneers Organization has contributed to building glorious chapters in history, actively contributing to the care and education of children and young people, the future generations of the country, who are courageous soldiers, intellectuals, scientists, managers, teachers... contributing to bringing glory to the Fatherland.
Comrade Duong Minh Nguyet, Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and President of the Provincial Youth Federation, presented certificates of "Good Children of Uncle Ho" at the provincial level to the children.
In Tuyen Quang , the work of the Youth Union and the children's movement have always received special attention from Party committees, government agencies, mass organizations, and the people. The province currently has over 138,000 Youth Union members and children participating in activities at 281 Youth Union branches. Youth Union movements and activities are widely implemented, closely adhering to the five teachings of Uncle Ho. Through activities such as "Good Study Hour - Good Study Week," "Clean Notebooks and Beautiful Handwriting," "Helping Friends," and "Lighting Up the Dreams of Tuyen Quang Children," the children not only excel in their studies and develop good character but also learn to love, share, and live responsibly.
Many innovative models such as "Small Planning House," "Young Pioneers' Bookcase," "Reading Festival," and "Journey to Red Addresses" have been effectively implemented. 100% of the youth teams in the province have organized thematic activities on "Building Beautiful Friendships, Saying No to School Violence," contributing to creating a positive, friendly, and safe learning environment.
Ms. Ma Thi Lan, the head teacher in charge of the Youth Union at Vinh Loc Primary School (Chiem Hoa), shared: “We always strive to innovate our methods so that Youth Union activities are not only engaging but also truly beneficial for the children. When children feel listened to and given opportunities to experience new things, they will mature very quickly.”
As the sole delegate selected from Chiêm Hóa district to attend the 2025 National Congress of Exemplary Children of Uncle Ho, Hà Duy Phong, a 5th-grade student and Deputy Head of the Youth Union at Vĩnh Lộc Primary School, not only stands out for his impressive academic achievements and extracurricular activities, but also for being a confident and capable "little leader".
From actively participating in Violympic competitions, Vietnamese language competitions, and English Olympiads, to actively helping friends improve in their studies, I clearly remember each trip and each emotion I felt when visiting the Kim Binh National Historical Site, which was once an important political center of the Vietnamese revolution.
"I feel very proud that my hometown is the place that marks an important historical event of the country. I feel even more compelled to try harder to be worthy of being a good child of Uncle Ho," Duy Phong proudly said.
Aspiration for the future
Besides focusing on preserving and promoting traditional values, the Youth Union's work and children's movement are gradually adapting to the demands of innovation, especially in the context of increasingly widespread digital transformation. In the 2024-2025 school year, many Youth Union branches in the province have adopted a system for monitoring, evaluating, and ranking the completion of the "Prospective Youth Union Member" and "Youth Union Member Training" programs through the "Good Deeds" application. This approach not only enhances transparency and scientific management of training but also motivates children and Youth Union members to proactively strive for improvement every day.
The models "Creative Experiential Recess Time," "My Science Club," and "Tuyen Quang Children Reaching Out to the World" not only help children access technology and develop STEM thinking, but also create a solid foundation for adapting to the development trends of the times.
Comrade Pham Thi Kieu Trang, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Youth Union and Chairwoman of the Provincial Children's Council, stated: “Children's work in the past period has continued to be implemented comprehensively, creatively, and closely aligned with reality. We focus on building a comprehensive educational environment for children through experiential models, life skills education, and the application of digital transformation. In the future, we will continue to improve the quality of the team of Head Leaders of the Children's Council, build flexible educational models suitable to the conditions of each locality. At the same time, we will focus on creating a safe and friendly learning and playing environment so that each Children's Council truly becomes a second home for its members. Through this, we help children to train and develop comprehensively, becoming capable, responsible citizens ready for integration.”
