EVNCPC mobilized nearly 350 personnel to support storm recovery in Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Immediately after storm No. 10 caused heavy damage to the power system in the North Central provinces, on the morning of September 29, Mr. Ngo Tan Cu, General Director of the Central Power Corporation (EVNCPC) held an urgent meeting to deploy a plan to mobilize forces to support Quang Tri and Ha Tinh to overcome natural disasters.

When storm No. 10 made landfall in the Northern Quang Tri - Ha Tinh area, the coastal areas suffered strong winds of level 10-12, gusts of level 14, causing a series of power poles to fall, many medium and low voltage lines to be broken, and thousands of transformer stations to lose power. According to EVNCPC in Quang Tri alone, initial statistics recorded more than 200 power poles falling, in which the Quang Trach and Bo Trach areas suffered the most damage.

Since yesterday, Deputy General Director, Head of the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Search and Rescue of EVNCPC Nguyen Huu Khanh, along with the Technical and Safety Departments, were present at the scene to directly direct the response and troubleshooting work.

In response to the request to restore power after the storm, General Director Ngo Tan Cu emphasized that this is an especially urgent situation, requesting EVNCPC to mobilize maximum human resources and means to support the two Power Companies of Quang Tri and Ha Tinh to quickly fix the problem and soon restore power to serve the people.

According to the decision of EVNCPC leaders, the Corporation has mobilized 340 engineers and workers from 7 member Power Companies and the Central Power Services Company (CPCCPSC) to urgently support troubleshooting after the storm.

Of which, Quang Tri Power Company was reinforced with 205 people, including: 60 people from Hue Power Company, 50 people from Da Nang, 30 people from Quang Ngai, 25 people from Khanh Hoa and 40 people from CPCCPSC.

For Ha Tinh Power Company (under the Northern Power Corporation), EVNCPC mobilized 125 employees, including 40 from Dak Lak Power Company, 50 from Gia Lai and 35 from Khanh Hoa Power Joint Stock Company.

EVNCPC General Director Ngo Tan Cu requested that, in addition to the on-site forces of Quang Tri Power Company, the mobilized units must fully prepare means of transport, equipment, protective gear and depart immediately in the morning and early afternoon of September 29 to be present in Quang Tri and Ha Tinh on time.

The goal is that today, Quang Tri Electricity Company must restore power to 90% of customers, prioritizing hospitals, key agencies and essential residential areas; at the same time, strive to restore the entire damaged power grid within 3 days.

EVNCPC staff immediately prepared necessary vehicles and equipment to go support the recovery from storm No. 10 in Quang Tri and Ha Tinh.

General Director Ngo Tan Cu emphasized: "Restoring the power grid after the storm is not only a production and business task but also a social responsibility of the Corporation to the community. I call on all officers, workers, engineers, and supporting forces to promote a sense of responsibility, solidarity, and close coordination with other units and local authorities to quickly handle the incident, restore power to the storm-hit areas, and contribute to stabilizing the lives and production of the people of Quang Tri and Ha Tinh."

The General Director requested all mobilized engineers, workers and on-site forces to strictly comply with safety regulations, maintain labor discipline, and uphold a sense of responsibility while performing their duties. The General Director of EVNCPC affirmed that the Corporation will concentrate all its efforts and make the highest effort to restore power as quickly as possible to people in the storm-hit area, while ensuring absolute safety for the forces participating in the recovery.
