Mr. Nguyen Tu Cong Hoang, Vice Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee, has just signed a decision approving the investment policy and investor approval for the National Power Transmission Corporation (EVNNPT) to implement the Nhon Hoi 220 kV Transformer Station Project and the Phuoc An - Nhon Hoi connecting line.

Accordingly, the Project is built in An Nhon town, Tuy Phuoc district and Nhon Hoi Economic Zone, Quy Nhon city. Of which, the transformer station has a total construction area of about 6.1 hectares in Nhon Hoi Economic Zone; the 220kV connecting line has an area of 51.76 hectares.

The project is invested to increase power supply to 110 kV transformer stations in the area, meeting the load demand of Nhon Hoi Economic Zone; limiting power loss in the transmission grid, increasing production and business efficiency of Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and EVNNPT.

The project scale includes the construction of a new 220/110/22 kV transformer station with a capacity of 220 kV/110 kV transformer of 250 MVA and a 110kV/22 kV transformer of 63 MVA; the construction of a new 220 kV line, 2 circuits from the 220 kV Phuoc An transformer station to the 220 kV Nhon Hoi transformer station with a length of about 22.2 km and the construction of a 22 kV line for self-consumption, about 0.5 km long.

The total investment capital of the project is over VND 812 billion, of which EVNNPT's capital contribution is over VND 234 billion. Regarding the progress, EVNNPT will carry out investment, land, and construction procedures from the second quarter of 2025 to the second quarter of 2027; start construction in the second quarter of 2027 and accept and energize the project in the third quarter of 2028.

Currently, EVNNPT is implementing 8 projects in Binh Dinh province to ensure electricity supply for Binh Dinh province and the region in 2025 and the coming years.

Specifically, in addition to the above project, the Phu My 220kV Transmission Line Project - Phuoc An - Quang Ngai Branch (Circuit 2) was approved for investment by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province on May 14, 2024. The project strives to complete construction and energize in the second quarter of 2026.

The Binh Dinh 500kV Substation and Connection Project was approved for investment policy by the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province on February 24, 2025. The project strives to complete construction and energize in the fourth quarter of 2027.

Quang Ngai - Quy Nhon 220kV Transmission Line Project (Phuoc An) Phase 2, expected to be energized in the second quarter of 2025. However, the project is currently stuck in site clearance.

The 500kV Van Phong – Binh Dinh Transmission Line Project is expected to start construction in the first quarter of 2027 and be energized in 2029.

The Binh Dinh - Krong Buk 500kV Transmission Line Project and the Dung Quat - Binh Dinh 500kV Transmission Line Project are striving to start construction in the first quarter of 2028 and complete in 2029.

Tuy Hoa - Phuoc An 220kV Transmission Line Project, striving to start construction in 2027 and energize in 2029.

At the working session with the Chairman of Binh Dinh Provincial People's Committee on May 8, 2025, for projects being invested in the province, Mr. Pham Le Phu, General Director of EVNNPT, requested the Provincial People's Committee to direct relevant departments, branches and localities to support investment procedures to ensure the progress of projects to start construction and energize as planned.

For projects under construction, EVNNPT recommends that the province focus on removing obstacles in site clearance, especially the Quang Ngai - Quy Nhon (Phuoc An) 220 kV Transmission Line Project, Phase 2.

According to EVNNPT, Binh Dinh province is currently supplied with electricity from 3 220 kV transformer stations with a total capacity of 1,205 MVA, 7 220 kV lines connecting the grid of power plants and transformer stations, nearly 240 km long.
The 220/110 kV transformers connect An Khe Hydropower Plant, Phu My Solar Power Plant, Hung Hai Gia Lai Wind Power Plant and 220 kV substations in the area, supplying electricity for industrial parks, people's daily life and economic development in Binh Dinh region.
