Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, spoke at the 2025 meeting with businesses and investors in Khanh Hoa province.
The conference was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Chi Dung and leaders of central and local ministries and branches. In his speech, Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation emphasized: " Khanh Hoa after the administrative boundary arrangement is possessing a valuable foundation, a golden time to establish distinct and modern development pillars, attract investment and spread sustainable values to people, businesses and the international community".
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, focused on clarifying the implementation of Resolution 57 of the Politburo on science, technology, innovation and digital transformation - one of the four strategic development pillars that Khanh Hoa province is prioritizing to implement. From there, the FPT General Director proposed five major directions to create a breakthrough.
Firstly, build the Khanh Hoa - Ninh Thuan Coastal Innovation Zone, becoming a testing area for specific mechanisms, piloting sandboxes in the fields of artificial intelligence, open data, renewable energy and marine technology.
Second, develop a technology startup ecosystem in coastal areas, closely connecting universities, research institutes, businesses and international partners.
Third, invest in core technology platforms such as artificial intelligence (AI), big data, cloud computing and the Internet of Things, applied in many fields such as tourism, healthcare, agriculture and marine economy - with the goal of turning Khanh Hoa into a national "data eye" for the sea and renewable energy.
Fourth, establish a local Science and Technology Fund with the leadership of the State and support from the business sector.
Fifth, pilot the model of "comprehensive smart digital citizen", integrating all learning, healthcare, administrative, and digital identification services on a technology platform.
In addition, FPT proposed that the province establish five new growth pillars, aiming for the goal of digital GDP. In particular, smart cities and digital government will play a central role, helping to grow about 1.5% per year. Digital economy and artificial intelligence can contribute 2% to growth, with the driving force coming from exploiting ocean data and the digital twin city model.
The MICE tourism sector and high-end services are identified as new strengths of the province if digitalization and greening are effectively combined. Meanwhile, the Van Phong-Cam Ranh maritime logistics cluster and transit port have the potential to develop into a digital transit point, similar to Penang. Finally, green energy and energy technology will be the spearhead if the province knows how to take advantage of data and technology to optimize the exploitation of the existing 3,700 MW of renewable energy.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa said that FPT has studied successful models in the world such as Jeju (Korea), Valencia (Spain), Penang (Malaysia) or Malta. These localities do not necessarily have outstanding population or area, but have made breakthroughs thanks to methodical technology strategies, innovation and drastic policies.
As a leading technology corporation in Vietnam, FPT is committed to accompanying Khanh Hoa on its journey of comprehensive digital transformation. Specifically, FPT will support the province in implementing digital government, building an open data platform, developing a technology startup ecosystem, and integrating education-research-innovation through the FPT center in Khanh Hoa.
Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa, General Director of FPT Corporation, proposed 5 strategic directions to turn Khanh Hoa into a bright spot for technology development, innovation and marine economy-tourism in the new period.
FPT aims to train 50,000 digital workers for the province by 2030, while supporting local small and medium-sized enterprises in the process of digital transformation and artificial intelligence application.
At the conference, the FPT Corporation CEO also called on the government to boldly pilot new mechanisms, reduce investment barriers and continue institutional reforms to create a more friendly environment for people and businesses. Businesses need to invest in technology, innovate production models and participate more deeply in the global value chain. People, he said, need to proactively learn, adapt and become digital citizens of the data era.
“Khanh Hoa is not only a tourist destination, but can completely become a place to awaken the Vietnamese aspiration - where every citizen is a part of the nation's digital future,” affirmed the FPT General Director.
Over the years, FPT has accompanied Khanh Hoa in laying the foundation for digital transformation, developing telecommunications, healthcare and education. In 2021, FPT sponsored the provincial planning, and together with McKinsey & Company proposed breakthroughs based on innovation and technology. The province has an IOC - a "digital brain" - and an investment promotion portal supported by FPT. Telecommunications infrastructure covers 16 wards and 37 communes. FPT Long Chau and the vaccination center contribute to improving public health. FPT University and high school in Nha Trang have become a center for training technology and AI for young people. Nearly 200 FPT engineers are working here.
FPT always accompanies the Government, ministries, and provinces to solve big problems with science and technology. Before the milestone of July 1, 2025, FPT has cooperated in digital transformation with 32/63 provinces and cities nationwide. Strengthening cooperation between FPT and Khanh Hoa will open up new development momentum, contributing to realizing the aspiration of making the locality break through with knowledge and technology.
