Nearly 1,000 athletes participated in the final round of the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run in Nam Tu Liem District

On the morning of May 17, the People's Committee of Nam Tu Liem district organized the final round of the 10th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace in Nam Tu Liem district in 2025 with the participation of nearly 1,000 athletes.

Attending the event were Do Thien Duc, member of the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the District; Lai Ba Ha, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Hanoi Moi Newspaper; leaders of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports ; Hanoi Sports Training and Competition Center and nearly 1,000 athletes representing 60 junior high schools, high schools, universities, colleges, businesses, armed forces... located in the area.

In her opening speech, Vice Chairwoman of Nam Tu Liem District People's Committee, Head of the Organizing Committee Do Thi Thuy Ha said that the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run is a sports event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025); the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birthday (May 19, 1890 - May 19, 2025), and the 68th anniversary of the first issue of Hanoi Moi Newspaper.

Over the past 50 years, the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run has been maintained annually, becoming a typical mass sport model associated with the common development of the Capital and Nam Tu Liem district.

Promoting that tradition, the Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run in Nam Tu Liem District has been continuously improved in both scale and quality. Accordingly, after a period of implementing activities in response to the 50th Hanoi Moi Newspaper Run - For Peace launched by the City, up to now, the whole District has had nearly 70 organizing units with over 10,000 people participating in the run and competing at the grassroots level, achieving and exceeding the target assigned by the city of nearly 8,000 people, creating an exciting competitive atmosphere as well as attracting a large number of people from all walks of life to participate.

At the final, nearly 1,000 athletes competed in the 800m men's and women's junior high school races; 800m men's and women's high school races; 800m women's and 1,200m men's races for colleges, universities, vocational high schools, and workers, civil servants, laborers, and armed forces.

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded First Prize to individuals:

Secondary School : First place for girls belongs to Duong Thien Diep (Phuong Canh Secondary School); First place for boys belongs to Nguyen Minh Hieu (Phuong Canh Secondary School); First place for the whole team belongs to Phuong Canh Secondary School.

High school block: First place for male belongs to Lai Van Hoang (Xuan Phuong High School); First place for female belongs to Nguyen Thi Anh Duong (Xuan Phuong High School); First place for the whole group belongs to Xuan Phuong High School.

College, University, Vocational and Professional High School Block: First male prize belongs to Duong Phuong Nam (Hanoi College of High Technology); First female prize belongs to Lau Thi Xuan Ha (Hanoi College of High Technology); First overall prize belongs to Hanoi College of High Technology.

Block of Workers, Civil Servants - Laborers, Armed Forces: First in the whole Tay Mo ward group.
