Previously, EVNHANOI proactively strengthened the power grid, reinforced weak points and ensured the operation of transformer stations at risk of flooding.

Subordinate units periodically inspect the power system in vulnerable areas and closely coordinate with functional forces to promptly handle incidents caused by fallen trees or foreign objects colliding with power lines.

As of 12:00 on October 7, 13,943 customers in Hanoi had their power supply temporarily cut off due to flooding, mainly concentrated in central areas such as Ba Dinh (5,735 customers), Hoan Kiem (2,098 customers) and Ha Dong (2,884 customers).

Some suburban areas such as Gia Lam, Dong Anh, Soc Son, Son Tay, Thuong Tin and Ung Hoa also recorded flooding with 3,226 customers affected.

Power units have mobilized maximum manpower, water pumping and drying equipment, and urgently restored transformer stations and power lines. Up to now, EVNHANOI has restored and re-supplied power to 5,562 customers in the capital.

The hardest-hit areas, such as Ba Dinh and Hoan Kiem, are being given priority treatment with teams of technicians working around the clock, using drainage pumps and drying equipment to restore substations and power lines.

As the water began to recede, EVNHANOI deployed working groups to move quickly to the affected areas. In addition, EVNHANOI promptly issued recommendations reminding people to cut off household electricity when there is a risk of flooding, not to touch electrical equipment with wet hands or walk barefoot on wet floors.
