Nearly 220,000 patients use citizen identification cards for medical examination and treatment

(kontumtv.vn) – Since the beginning of the year, nearly 220,000 patients in the province have used chip-embedded citizen identification cards and the VNeID application to replace health insurance cards for medical examination and treatment at medical facilities, accounting for nearly 60% of total medical examinations and treatments.

Compared to the same period in 2024, the number of people using chip-embedded citizen identification cards and VNeID for medical examination and treatment increased by more than 100,000 people. The total value of cashless payment for medical examination and treatment costs was more than 11.4 billion VND, an increase of 6.5 billion VND compared to the same period last year. Promoting the use of chip-embedded citizen identification cards and applying VNeID to medical examination and treatment not only helps reduce pressure on the health system, but also ensures the rights of patients through fast and accurate authentication of information, especially in the context of strong national digital transformation./.
