Nearly 60 children received free cleft lip and palate examination and surgery

On June 3, Vietnam-Cuba Friendship Hospital, Operation Smile Organization in collaboration with Ba Vi District General Hospital (Hanoi) organized the program "Smile surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate".

At the program, nearly 60 children with congenital cleft lip and palate were eligible for surgery and care according to Vietnamese medical standards and global care standards.

Many children receiving free surgery this time come from provinces, cities, remote areas; and families with difficult circumstances.

According to Deputy Director of Ba Vi District General Hospital Nguyen Ngoc Vinh, the program "Smile surgery for patients with cleft lip and palate" is an activity with profound humanitarian meaning, contributing to bringing smiles and a brighter future to unfortunate patients with cleft lip and palate deformities.

The hospital has arranged and organized reception areas, screening areas, patient rooms, operating rooms, etc. to ensure the best conditions for the surgery program to take place safely and effectively.

In addition, the hospital also has a plan to ensure accommodation and living conditions for patients and their families, supporting more than 100 free meals to serve patients.

Notably, with these free surgeries, the children are not only physically healed but also mentally healed from the trauma caused by inferiority complex. Many children after surgery can smile brightly, speak clearly, eat easily and are more confident when going to school and communicating with friends.
