This year’s tournament brings together 35 community football centers with a total of nearly 900 registered young athletes. The two age groups participating in this year’s tournament continue to be U10 (born from January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2014) and U11 (born from January 1, 2013 to December 31, 2013). Specifically, there are 21 teams competing in the U10 age group while in the U11 age group, there are up to 32 teams competing.

After a total of 88 matches (in both the group stage and the knockout stage) with 121 goals scored (an average of 1.37 goals/match), the Viettel Cup 2024 has found two champions for each age group, namely U10 Tuyen Quang Sports Training and Competition Center and U11 GoldenBall Hai Phong. Second prize went to U10 10.10 Viet Tri Football Club and U11 C+ FC. Third prize was awarded to U10 Vu Linh Football Center and U11 Phuong Dong Community Football Center (CFC).

In the U10 age group, Nguyen Nhat Phong of Vu Linh Football Center won the top scorer award with 5 goals. Meanwhile, Nguyen Nhat Huy of Phuong Dong Community Football Center (CFC) became the top scorer in the U11 age group with 4 goals.

With the aim of creating a playground for young players, encouraging the passion for sports in general and football in particular, the tournament is organized annually by Viettel Sports Company. However, the special feature of this year's tournament is its larger scale, different from the limitation of community football centers in Hanoi as in previous years. This year's tournament has the participation of centers from Tuyen Quang, Nghe An, Thanh Hoa, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh.

"Participating in a large-scale tournament with professional organization is a great experience for young players. Tournaments like this have a very high connection, especially for units doing community football and school football. The connection between players and centers will create healthy competition, thereby promoting the development of community football", said Vu Anh Thang - co-founder of Starlink Community Football Center.

In addition to creating a community playground and a vibrant competitive atmosphere for young players, the tournament is also an opportunity for Viettel Sports Company to search for and discover young athletes with football talent, creating conditions for them to develop into professional players.

Selecting talented young athletes is also one of the criteria Viettel Sports Company set when organizing this tournament. Professional coaches were present at the field to observe and evaluate the young players. Those with passion and outstanding talent may be able to participate in the final round of the selection this summer.
