At the meeting, Vietnamese Ambassador to Japan Pham Quang Hieu said that from 2000 to now, the Vietnamese community has continuously increased over the years, now reaching nearly 500.000 people, becoming the second largest foreign community in Japan.

Among these, many are from the younger generation; Many people have studied, researched and worked in Japan for the past 15-20 years, have been holding important positions in teaching, research and management at prestigious universities and leading enterprises in Japan.
Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu welcomed and highly appreciated the enthusiasm of the intellectual community, especially the Association of Vietnamese Intellectuals in Japan, the Vietnamese Academic Network in Japan (VANJ), the Vietnamese Community of Experts in Japan (VPJ), the Vietnam Youth Association in Japan (VYSA) and the Vietnam - Japan Innovation Network (VJOIN), which successfully attracted many intellectuals and entrepreneurs.
The meeting spent time actively discussing the contributions of Prof. Tran Van Tho and 20 Vietnamese professors and associate professors majoring in information technology, microchips, materials, healthcare, agriculture, economics...; 15 presidents, directors, managers of Vietnamese enterprises in the fields of information technology, finance, economics, consulting, business start-up... in Japan.
