Meeting to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the establishment of the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations

On the morning of December 6, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations held a meeting to celebrate its 15th anniversary. Attending the meeting were Mr. Phan Anh Son, Secretary of the Party Committee, President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations ; representatives of leaders of a number of departments, branches and 12 member friendship associations.

Established in 2009, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations now has 12 member organizations and more than 5,000 members. Over 15 years of development, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has always performed well its specialized functions and tasks in people's foreign affairs, actively contributing to socio -economic development, enhancing the position and image of the province to international friends.

The Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations constantly innovates and improves the effectiveness of people-to-people diplomacy; organizes and coordinates many major people-to-people diplomacy activities with profound political and social significance. The province's cooperative and friendly relations with localities of other countries are constantly expanded and deepened.

Cultural diplomacy activities have been promoted through the organization of competitions and contests with positive results. In the period of 2019 - 2024, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations has launched and awarded 15 competitions on the occasion of the anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with other countries; regularly maintained contact with Vietnamese Associations and Vinh Phuc Associations abroad, increased two-way information exchange, and mobilized Vinh Phuc expatriates to return to their homeland.

At the same time, actively advise the Provincial People's Committee on policies and strategies for overseas Vietnamese to attract economic, scientific and technical resources to serve the socio-economic development goals of the province, and promote and mobilize overseas Vietnamese to participate in supporting local economic development.

To continue to perform well its role as a bridge between friendship organizations, contributing to expanding people-to-people diplomacy, in the coming time, the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations will strengthen foreign information and propaganda work and develop members, gradually expand the people-to-people diplomacy network to localities and each person in the province; proactively and actively organize activities of peace, solidarity, friendship and people-to-people cooperation.

At the same time, continue to innovate the content and methods of operation, promote the role of associations, branches and members; attract the widespread participation of people and businesses in the province; promote solidarity, friendship and people-to-people cooperation in depth, substance and effectiveness.

On this occasion, the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations presented the Provincial Union of Friendship Organizations with a banner with the words "Proactive, flexible, creative, effective"; 2 collectives and 4 individuals were awarded Certificates of Merit by the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations for their active contributions to people-to-people diplomacy in the period 2019 - 2024.
