At the meeting, delegates reviewed the tradition and pride in the arduous but extremely glorious century-long history of Vietnam's revolutionary press.
Reading a speech recalling the anniversary, Chairman of the Binh Dinh Provincial Journalists Association Do Nguyen Hung said: Over the past 100 years, the Vietnamese revolutionary press has always been a core force, playing an important role on the ideological and cultural front, actively contributing to the Party's revolutionary cause and the country's renovation.
During this ceremony, each of us journalists remembers Uncle Ho even more, the beloved leader of our Party and people, a great revolutionary journalist and also the founder of Vietnam's revolutionary journalism.
On June 21, 1925, the mouthpiece of the Vietnam Revolutionary Youth Association - Thanh Nien Newspaper, founded by leader Nguyen Ai Quoc, published its first issue. This was the first revolutionary newspaper of our country.
Since the establishment of Thanh Nien Newspaper, the Vietnamese press has raised the revolutionary flag, expressed the will and aspirations of the Vietnamese people and pointed out the direction of the Vietnamese people's struggle for independence, freedom and socialism. President Ho Chi Minh was also the one who trained the first generation of proletarian journalists in Vietnam such as Le Hong Son, Ho Tung Mau, Le Duy Diem, Truong Van Linh...
On June 2, 1950, the Government officially decided to establish the Vietnam Journalists Association (now the Vietnam Journalists Association ). In July 1950, the International Press Organization recognized the Vietnam Journalists Association as an official member of the organization.
On February 5, 1985, according to the Secretariat's Decision No. 52-QD/TW, June 21 every year was chosen as Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, aiming to enhance the role and social responsibility of the press, strengthen the relationship between the press and the public, and strengthen the Party's leadership over the press.
Mr. Do Nguyen Hung also shared that the glorious tradition of 100 years of Vietnamese revolutionary journalism is a milestone for journalists to look back on the past, be proud, grateful and move forward firmly. Maintaining and promoting those traditions, the team of journalists in the province will continue to affirm their role as pioneers, steadfast soldiers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, wholeheartedly serving the Fatherland, serving the people, contributing to building the homeland of Binh Dinh to develop rapidly and sustainably. Together, promote the good qualities of Vietnamese revolutionary journalists: Bright eyes - Pure heart - Sharp pen, continue to write pages full of intelligence, responsibility and emotion, for a professional, humane, modern revolutionary journalism, for a prosperous and powerful Vietnam.

Speaking at the program, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang said that the province always recognizes and appreciates the great contributions of the press, journalists, and press agencies inside and outside the province to the development of the province. He would like to commend and congratulate the achievements of the press agencies and the team of journalists in the province in the past time.
According to Vice Chairman of Lam Hai Giang Provincial People's Committee, looking back at the 100-year journey of revolutionary journalism, we have more confidence in the role of journalism in the new period. In the context of digital transformation, multi-dimensional information, and strong development of social networks, the press has posed difficulties and challenges that must be overcome.
In order for Binh Dinh press to continue to develop and achieve more achievements, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Lam Hai Giang hopes and requests that press agencies and journalists at all levels and sectors in Binh Dinh continue to promote the tradition of revolutionary journalism and the achievements. Press agencies and journalists in the province must always be deeply aware of their role and mission as the voice of the Party Committee, the government, and the forum of the people; continue to affirm themselves as the core force in ideological work, propaganda, orienting public opinion, creating social consensus, and strengthening people's trust in the leadership of the Party and government at all levels. Journalists must constantly cultivate their qualities and professional ethics, actively study and research Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's ideology, improve their qualifications, expertise, and professionalism, access and use modern journalism skills to become sharp and proficient writers, actively contributing to the development of the province.
In addition, regularly follow the political tasks and propaganda orientation of the province, uphold the principles and purposes of the press. Actively accompany the province in implementing strategic goals, especially developing science and technology, innovation, digital transformation, green transformation, building smart cities, promoting local images and brands to attract investment, develop the economy, develop tourism; play a good role as a bridge between the Party, the government and the people; promptly convey the Party's policies and the State's laws, raise awareness, create consensus in society, especially on sensitive issues, new programs and projects; promote administrative reform, prevent corruption, waste, stagnation, improve transparency, effectiveness and efficiency of state management, build an honest, creative and active government.
In particular, in the coming time, the leaders of Binh Dinh province emphasized that the press agencies in the province need to focus on promoting the implementation of the work of arranging the organization and staff according to the two-level local government model.
Along with that, in the context of increasingly deep international integration, the development trend of science, information technology, communication and digital transformation is taking place strongly, the team of journalists must quickly grasp modern communication trends; promote digital transformation of journalism and apply new technology to improve information quality and efficiency.

On June 3, 2025, the Provincial People's Committee issued Decision 736/QD-UBND on the establishment of the Binh Dinh Provincial Press Award Council in 2025. Authorized by the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial Journalists Association - the standing body of the Provincial Press Award Council has developed a plan to organize the Provincial Press Award in 2025 and widely disseminated and announced to affiliated branches, central and local newspapers and radio stations and on the media for members, reporters, collaborators and readers to submit articles to participate in the contest.
The 2025 Binh Dinh Provincial Press Awards received 94 entries; including 19 print press works, 42 electronic press works, 13 radio works, 13 television works and 7 photojournalism works.

Based on the results of the two preliminary and final rounds, and the consensus of the Award Council, the Binh Dinh Provincial Press Award Council decided to recognize and award 44 works by 58 authors in 5 types of press including: Print, Electronic, Television and Radio and press photos won the Provincial Press Award in 2025. Of which, 5 works won A prize; 12 works won B prize; 13 works won C prize and 14 works won consolation prizes.
