Linh Ung Pagoda is currently of interest to many tourists because from here, you can see Da Nang Bay - the water is green as jade all year round.

People on Son Tra Peninsula recount that during the reign of King Minh Mang (Nguyen Dynasty, 19th century), a Buddha statue drifted to the sandbank here. People saw it as a good omen, so they built a shrine to worship it, thanks to which the whole area was calm and the fishermen were able to do business in peace. The sandbank where this statue drifted to was called Bai But, and is also the place where Linh Ung Pagoda is built today.

Directions to the temple

There are 2 routes for you to conveniently travel to Linh Ung Pagoda, Son Tra:

- Moving from the airport/city center: From the airport, you move along Duy Tan Street to Trung Nu Vuong roundabout, then go straight to Dragon Bridge. After crossing Dragon Bridge, continue to Vo Van Kiet Street, turn left to Vo Nguyen Giap Street, then go straight along Hoang Sa Street, follow this coastal road to the pagoda.

- Moving from Da Nang bus station area: After moving to Da Nang, from the bus station, turn left onto National Highway 1A, then turn left all the way to To Hieu Street and then turn right onto Phung Hung Street to Nguyen Tat Thanh. Here, you move across Thuan Phuoc Bridge, go straight on Le Duc Tho Street. At the end of the road, turn left onto Hoang Sa Street. Just go to the end of the road, look to the left and you will see Linh Ung Pagoda.

Interesting things at Linh Ung Pagoda

- Unique architecture of the pagoda: Linh Ung Pagoda is considered a majestic and invested architectural work. It has the tallest statue of Buddha Quan The Am in Vietnam with a height of 2m, with a lotus diameter of 35m. The inner diameter is 17m wide, the height is 17 floors and each floor has an altar with a total of 21 statues.

The Buddha statues here all have different shapes and postures, called “Buddha in Buddha”. In addition, on the top of the 17th floor, there is a staircase leading to the top of the statue. The statue faces the sea, one hand in the Samadhi mudra, the other holding a bottle of nectar as if sprinkling peace on the fishermen.

The temple does not prohibit visitors from bringing food and drinks, but you should only bring cakes and bottled water. You must choose a suitable place to eat and dispose of trash in the right place.

In addition, in the temple grounds there are also stalls selling ice cream, soft drinks, and fresh coconuts.

This is a spiritual place, a sacred place of worship, so when visiting you need to pay attention to the following:

- When visiting, you should dress modestly and politely. Avoid wearing clothes such as shorts, revealing shirts, etc. that cause offense in a spiritual place.

- If you come with friends, please limit noisy gatherings and talking too loudly in the temple. You should walk softly and consciously protect the miniature landscapes and relics in the temple.
