Rabies vaccination for dogs is an effective measure to prevent rabies.
The patient is YNH (Male, born in 2014, residing in Bang A Drênh commune, Krong Ana district. Previously, on January 1, the patient developed symptoms such as frequent vomiting, fatigue, fear of water, fear of wind, the patient's family took the patient to Da Thien Hanh Hospital for examination. The patient was then transferred to Tay Nguyen General Hospital with a diagnosis of full-blown rabies/sepsis monitoring. At 5:30 p.m. on January 4, the family asked to take the child home, the patient died at 5:00 a.m. on January 5. According to the patient's family, about 3 months before being admitted to the hospital, the patient was bitten by a dog in the house on the left arm and did not get vaccinated against rabies.
Immediately after recording the suspected death due to Rabies, Dak Lak CDC quickly investigated the case and reported it according to regulations. At the same time, it informed the case information to the Provincial Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine; Krong Ana District Medical Center for coordination in handling. In addition, it provided advice to the patient's family and communicated knowledge of rabies prevention and control to the family and surrounding community.
