Mr. T, a regular customer of the Lacoste fashion brand, said that on May 24th, he visited the Lacoste store at Pacific Place on Ly Thuong Kiet Street (Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi) to buy a T-shirt. Seeing a crew-neck shirt priced at 1.75 million VND, Mr. T decided to buy it. When he went to the checkout counter, the staff informed him that he had to pay 1.99 million VND.
“ The Lacoste store employee shared that 1.99 million VND is the updated price of the product. The price on the label is the old price. Although the difference is not much, I feel disappointed and surprised by the way a major fashion brand like Lacoste operates. I am not satisfied with this shopping experience ,” Mr. T said.
According to Mr. T, Lacoste is a fashion brand trusted and chosen by many Vietnamese people. Buyers are mainly intellectuals, businesspeople, and wealthy individuals. Therefore, Lacoste needs to provide customers with a better shopping experience.

Speaking to VTC News , Ngo Hoang Luan, store manager of Lacoste at Pacific Palace, explained that the reason the price tag on the shirt shows 1.75 million VND is because it's an old tag that the store hasn't updated yet. The price on this tag hasn't been adjusted, leading to a discrepancy between the listed price and the price paid by customers.
" This is our oversight. Although the selling price has been adjusted upwards, the warehouse department did not properly affix the labels to some products, resulting in incorrect pricing ," Mr. Luan said.
According to Mr. Luan, when Lacoste products arrive in Vietnam, they are taken to the warehouse where staff affix Vietnamese labels before distributing them to retail outlets. A few days ago, the store also conducted a comprehensive inventory check to prepare for the new products.
Regarding the incident of Lacoste shirts being sold at different prices than listed, VTC News reporters visited Lacoste stores on Dong Khoi and Le Lai streets (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City). However, the round-neck t-shirt model, similar to the one Mr. T bought in Hanoi, was labeled with a price of 1.99 million VND, with no instances of incorrect pricing.
We spoke with a female employee at the Lacoste store at 58 Dong Khoi Street (Ho Chi Minh City) about Mr. T.'s case in Hanoi. The employee said that the old price of the shirt might have been 1.75 million VND, while the new price is 1.99 million VND.
" Don't worry, when we scanned the code on the system, we saw that the price had been updated. It's possible that our staff in Hanoi haven't had time to process the old label yet. Sometimes we miss a label when we're at the warehouse ," the female employee said.
