Strengthening quality control of goods at the first Autumn Fair

On the afternoon of October 27, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Oanh, Deputy Director of the Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade, and a working delegation from the Hanoi Market Management Department went directly to the National Exhibition Center (VEC) to inspect the products and goods on display at the first Autumn Fair - 2025.

During the inspection, Ms. Nguyen Kieu Oanh emphasized the need to strengthen inspection and strict control of goods at the fair, especially agricultural products, food, consumer goods... Ms. Oanh requested that the authorities focus on checking stamps, labels, origin, expiry date, and at the same time ensuring full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.

According to Ms. Nguyen Kieu Oanh, checking and controlling goods is a regular task of the Market Management force, especially during fairs that attract a large number of people and tourists.

“The goal is to ensure that all products at the fair have clear origins and meet quality standards, contributing to building the image of a civilized, safe and trustworthy fair,” Ms. Oanh emphasized.

A representative of the Hanoi Market Management Department also said that during the first Autumn Fair - 2025, the market management force will organize regular and surprise inspections, focusing on products at risk of violating labeling, quality and food safety.

Previously, the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Autumn Fair sent a document to the Hanoi Market Management Department regarding price inspection, control and handling of violations at the first Autumn Fair - 2025. Accordingly, the first Autumn Fair - 2025 is an event of important political, economic and foreign affairs significance of the country, chaired and organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade under the direction of the Prime Minister in Official Dispatch No. 172/CD-TTg dated September 25, 2025, taking place from October 26 to November 4, 2025 at the Vietnam National Exhibition Fair Center (VEC), Dong Anh, Hanoi.

During the implementation of the organization, the Organizing Committee received feedback from businesses and visitors about the phenomenon of some booths participating in the Fair selling products and goods at incorrect listed prices or not publicly announcing the listed prices; selling prices much higher than market prices, negatively affecting the image and reputation of the Fair and the interests of consumers.

In order to ensure that commercial activities, product display and introduction at the Fair are conducted in a civilized manner and in accordance with legal regulations, the Organizing Committee requests the Hanoi Market Management Department - Hanoi Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with the Organizing Committee to strengthen the inspection and control of prices at display and sales areas within the Fair premises; promptly detect and correct violations of regulations on prices, price posting, and selling at incorrect prices.

At the same time, handle or recommend handling according to current regulations for violations; guide businesses and units participating in the Fair to strictly implement regulations on price posting and selling at listed prices.
