Rice prices increased slightly, while paddy prices rose by 50-900 VND.

Today, August 15th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region of Vietnam increased for both paddy and milled rice. Paddy prices rose by 50-900 VND/kg, and milled rice prices increased by 50 VND/kg.

The rice market in localities across the Mekong Delta region today is generally experiencing strong demand and stable prices.

Specifically, in An Cu ( Soc Trang ), there is a lot of low-quality rice, transactions are stable, and there is little good quality rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), the supply is low, and prices are stable. In Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is low, prices remain high, warehouses are buying consistently, keeping prices stable, and purchasing power is quite good.

At retail markets, rice prices have been adjusted for various types of rice. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed at the highest price of 28,000 VND/kg, a decrease of 2,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice is 18,000 - 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice is 20,000 VND/kg; regular white rice fluctuates around 15,000 - 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice is 20,000 - 21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice is 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice is 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice is 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice is 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice is 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, it has been observed that farmers are offering high prices and demand is strong in various localities. In Soc Trang, demand is high, and farmers are offering high prices. In An Giang , the supply is low, and farmers are offering higher prices.

Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, today's rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. IR 50404 rice is priced around 7,500 - 8,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is priced at 8,300 - 8,400 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is priced at 8,000 - 8,200 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is priced at 8,300 - 8,400 VND/kg; OM 380 rice is priced from 8,000 VND/kg, an increase of 900 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 - 8,000 VND/kg and Nang Nhen (dried) rice is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the glutinous rice market showed no adjustments compared to yesterday. IR 4625 glutinous rice (fresh) remained stable at 7,800 - 7,900 VND/kg compared to yesterday. An Giang glutinous rice (fresh) remained unchanged at 7,000 - 7,200 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

Regarding rice, prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, raw IR 504 summer-autumn rice rose to 11,700 - 11,800 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg; finished IR 504 rice remained at 13,750 - 13,850 VND/kg.

By-product prices today remain unchanged compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of OM 5451 broken rice is at 9,450 - 9,550 VND/kg; the price of dry rice bran remains stable at 7,300 - 7,350 VND/kg.

On the export market, Vietnamese rice export prices remained unchanged compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice was priced at US$440/ton; standard 5% broken rice remained stable at US$570/ton; and 25% broken rice was priced at US$536/ton.
