Domestic coffee situation remains stable
At 5:00 a.m. this morning, May 26, 2025, coffee prices in the Central Highlands remained unchanged compared to yesterday's session, continuing to remain high after a series of previous declines.
On average, the coffee purchase price in key provinces is currently at 122,400 VND/kg.
Specifically, the price in Dak Lak today is 122,500 VND/kg; Lam Dong is at 122,000 VND/kg; Gia Lai maintains the price at 122,500 VND/kg and Dak Nong also records 122,500 VND/kg.
Market survey shows that coffee prices in the Central Highlands are currently at their lowest price in the past 6 weeks.
Weekly, prices have dropped sharply from VND2,500 to VND2,700 per kilogram, marking the fourth consecutive week of decline in the domestic market.
Notably, Dak Nong recorded the sharpest decrease last week, up to 2,700 VND/kg.
Gia Lai and Dak Lak provinces both decreased by 2,500 VND/kg compared to last week.
Meanwhile, coffee prices in Lam Dong also decreased by VND2,500/kg during the week.
The downward trend in domestic coffee prices is largely due to a slowdown in trading and increased supply from major Robusta producing countries such as Indonesia and Brazil.
Citing Reuters, traders said that although current output in the two countries has not reached high levels, harvesting is progressing and supply is expected to continue to increase.
Pepper prices remain stable
At 5:00 a.m. on May 26, 2025, pepper prices in the domestic market did not record any fluctuations, remaining stable compared to the previous session.
Currently, the average pepper purchase price in key areas is 146,400 VND/kg.
In Gia Lai province, pepper prices remain the same as yesterday with a purchase price of 146,000 VND/kg.

World pepper price developments
According to updated data from the International Pepper Community (IPC) at 5:00 a.m. on May 26, 2025, the world market continued to move sideways and remained stable as yesterday.
Specifically, IPC announced that the price of Indonesian Lampung black pepper is at 7,432 USD/ton; while Muntok white pepper is currently traded at 10,134 USD/ton.
The Malaysian market remained stable, with ASTA black pepper at USD 9,150/ton and ASTA white pepper currently at USD 11,850/ton.
In Brazil, pepper prices remain unchanged, currently reaching 6,650 USD/ton.
Vietnam's pepper export market continues to be stable, with 500 g/l black pepper currently trading at 6,700 USD/ton; 550 g/l priced at 6,800 USD/ton; and white pepper at 9,700 USD/ton.
Statistics show that in the past week, domestic pepper prices have dropped sharply, from 4,000 to 6,500 VND/kg, down to about 146,000 - 147,000 VND/kg, this is the lowest price in the past 4 months.
In the world market, while pepper prices in Brazil and Malaysia decreased, Indonesia recorded a significant increase.
According to experts, in the context of Vietnam's pepper export volume decreasing, rival countries, especially Indonesia, have had a strong breakthrough in export output.
Recent growth figures show that the Indonesian pepper industry is dominating the world market.
The domestic pepper market is in a state of stagnation, as growers and buyers are both cautious.
The reason is that the current selling price is not attractive enough, while input costs remain high, forcing many farmers to temporarily stop investing or switch to growing durian and avocado - crops with higher economic value.
In an assessment from the Import-Export Department (Ministry of Industry and Trade), global pepper prices remain high due to limited post-harvest supply along with positive consumption prospects in regions such as Europe, the Middle East and China.
According to the agency, Vietnamese enterprises are stepping up their approach to niche markets and tightening quality control to meet the strict requirements of high-end markets.
