Durian price today August 17: Dak Lak increased sharply, Thai VIP reached 95,000 VND/kg

On the morning of August 17, the durian market became more bustling when the price in Dak Lak increased by 2,000 VND/kg. Regular Thai durians ranged from 78,000 - 82,000 VND/kg, while VIP durians reached 95,000 VND/kg - the highest price of the week. The atmosphere of harvesting and preparing for export in the durian capital became bustling, with hundreds of containers gathered waiting to receive goods.

In the Southeast region, Thai durian grade A is commonly priced at 76,000 - 80,000 VND/kg, VIP grade from 85,000 - 90,000 VND/kg. Ri6 grade A is stable at around 40,000 - 44,000 VND/kg. In the Central Highlands, prices are higher, Thai grade A is 78,000 - 82,000 VND/kg, VIP grade from 90,000 - 95,000 VND/kg. Musang King has a softer price, ranging from 60,000 - 70,000 VND/kg for grade A.

Other localities such as Dong Nai, Binh Phuoc , Tay Ninh or Gia Lai also recorded a slight increase in price for Thai durian. Defective durians are still purchased at around 50,000 - 67,000 VND/kg, Ri6 defective durians fluctuate at 28,000 - 32,000 VND/kg. Stable purchasing power helps growers optimize profits and limit the risk of being forced to lower prices.
