(CT) - The price of many types of durian in the Mekong Delta has increased from 5,000 to 15,000 VND/kg compared to more than 2 weeks ago. The price of Thai durian (Mon Thon durian) sold by farmers to traders and fruit purchasing warehouses is 65,000 to 70,000 VND/kg, while previously it was 55,000 to 60,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, Mon Thon durian selected grade 1 (meeting export standards) has increased from 60,000 to 65,000 VND/kg to 75,000 to 80,000 VND/kg. Currently, farmers in many places sell Ri 6 seedless durian in bulk to traders and fruit purchasing warehouses at 42,000-47,000 VND/kg, while Ri 6 selected grade 1 is priced at 50,000-55,000 VND/kg. The price has increased because traders and businesses have increased purchases to serve export, while supply has decreased because many durian gardens have finished harvesting the fruit.

After a period of price reduction due to increased supply when entering the peak harvest season, the price of Hoa Loc mango has now increased again from 3,000-8,000 VND/kg compared to about 2-3 weeks ago. Grade 1 Hoa Loc mango (from 400gr/fruit or more) is sold by farmers in many localities in the Mekong Delta to traders and fruit purchasing warehouses for 25,000-28,000 VND/kg, while grade 2 mangoes cost about 20,000-23,000 VND/kg. The price of Hoa Loc mango has increased due to reduced supply and high consumption demand because it is delicious and popular with many consumers. As for many other types of mangoes such as Taiwanese mangoes, Keo mangoes... the prices are still very low due to abundant supply and slow export output, as well as weak domestic demand because this season there are many types of fruit for consumers to choose from. Taiwanese green-skinned mangoes are sold by farmers to traders at only 2,000-3,000 VND/kg, Keo mangoes are 3,000-4,000 VND/kg.

Compared to more than a month ago, the price of pangasius fingerlings in many localities in the Mekong Delta has dropped sharply by 8,000-10,000 VND/kg and is at its lowest level in many months. Pangasius fingerlings of 30-35 fish/kg in many places are only at 20,000-25,000 VND/kg. This price is nearly 30,000 VND/kg lower than in February 2023. The price has decreased due to increased supply and weak purchasing power, especially when recently the price of raw pangasius has decreased significantly compared to before, many businesses and households have reduced their demand for fingerlings.
